Yes, I taught children all my life---and taught those in tough and impoverished neighborhoods--doing what I could both during school and after school for them. It was a wonderful life. Though I love mothers, too, I really couldn't have done all this if I had my own to care for as well.

Being childfree (yeah that is the proper term) is a blessing! I grew up as an 'unwanted child' and that screwed me up far worse than not having a child did! @@blackdove5940 First of all your statement is extremely misleading. Slavery has never been voluntary such as the work programs in California prisons....and they definitely have never been paid. Secondly, Kamala Harris was shocked when she read about her lawyers keeping non-violent prisoners from California's overcrowded prisons in jail because the state wanted to keep them as a labor force. She looked into it and directed the department's attorneys not to make that argument again.

My daughter and son-in-law adopted 2 children and my son-in-law has a child from a previous relationship. That means my daughter has no biological children. Guess what? I’ve known enough unloved, unwanted, neglected, and abused children to know that just because you’re capable of having them doesn’t mean you should. And to know that a lot of wonderful people who never had their own children can be the best mothers to someone else’s children.
