As a woman, I've played FPS since I was a kid. Most experiences amount to guys either simping, hurling misogynistic insults-or a mix of both (simp/acting as a nice guy, then getting all mad when I won't give them attention) But I've run into some good people as well, most of which I've become good friends with. Surprisingly, the bad treatment I get in CS:GO/CS2 comes nowhere near close to console COD when I was younger, but maybe that's 'cause I live in the US; I would probably have a worse time in EU servers lol
This is what I observe as a man as well. Recently got into overwatch. It was mindblowing how in basically every game I have a woman on my team and most of the time nobody cares and they act normal. Whenever I played with a woman in CS my team would go ape mode as if they never saw a woman in their life. I hated that because instead of comms and gameplay I had a bunch of guys simping for a woman. Then if we started losing they would turn to misogyny of course.
And then there is women that literally abuse simps around in mm and making a sh1t show on the spot where all simp are against you if you're not praising the ho, acting like shes a fckn mistress or MC of this world smh. Because of that impression i simply avoid any interaction with "Woman" in mm, better sad than sorry. Some "special" people just make bad impression of their community (Just like extremist Fems) Its applied to real world aswell but in different quote "Help 100 times and noone remember it - but fail once and everyone will sh1t on you"

I didn't talk the whole time, I was near top-fragger, few guys on my team seemed chill and were having fun. I thought they were cool, so I started talking; their mood _instantly_ took a 180° and all the sudden, I was getting accused of hacks, being told to go back to the kitchen, make them a sandwich harrased, r*** jokes-all that lovely stuff. In all fairness, I didn't have prime then-but even when I got prime, I still had some middle-aged guys throwing hackusations and harassing me 'cause I was top fragging in the lobbies. I recall that my trust factor was low 'cause some of those guys spam reported my ass lol But CS2 has been significantly better, whether that's 'cause of a higher trust factor or not-even in places like faceit or premier have treated me decently, but I still come across those issues sometimes.
Yeah Europeans have no limit. My wife who I frequently play with still gets insulted or even flirted with like a sex object, while I am literally her husband. A lot of people don’t have any respect anymore, it’s gotten better tho!
As a woman when I started to play faceit I was really bothered by the toxic temmates, now I’m so toxic until they don’t say anything anymore or they report me. I only solo queue and idgaf, when they start to be toxic with u they don’t expect u to be toxic back✨
Yeah... As a too far gone solo queuer myself I'll just say I also run into toxic people often as well. I've just started the insta mute policy, when people turn toxic. Honestly the best and most fun games I've had after I started doing that. I also normally give people a second chance 4-5 rounds later, but 9/10 times I end up muting again within 2 min.
Honestly, as a female gamer I can confirm I get rape threats on the daily, constant stalker behavior (they google all of my socials and follow me during/after a game) and since I do try my best to get better at games like CS, I give comms and try to make plays but just get instantly trolled or TKd. its just not worth it because at the end of the day the pro scene don't accept women and the community wont either. Ive even tried to contact people like ESL to try and do better with the chat moderation and in general highlighting the female pros more etc.... anyways, i feel like this game is dying because of the community which is ironic.
