All tanks can be blown up! Air support and pre bombing of offensive battle field to clear the way for tanks. The $30,000 lancet seems to work very well to blow up the Leopards and Bradleys tanks.
Leopard 2 tanks are designed for defense on prepared positions with small elevation. For this they have very good angles for main gun, very good front armor, very accurate sights and gun, fast rear movement. But they have bad side and rear armor, bad protection against mines, large mass and size. So tank can move forward and show only it's gun or very little of front armor then make a shot and quickly move back to hide from enemy fire. This tactics was planed to use against USSR and later Russian huge tank attack to Europe. This tactics did not take into account drones, satellites, helicopters... So in offensive operations they can't show their best because they was not designed for that.
Same goes for most of the western tank. There's pictures of the abrams where it got ambushed by RPG's or went through an IED. Both tank launched its turret. I saw an another video where ISIS forces just launched some sort of projectile (still dont know what was that exactly) and the abrams upper hull opened like a tin can since its lightly armoured (around 36mm). That tank got disabled by the shoot, later ISIS forces destroyed it after the crew got killed.
@@Sachertortehmmlecker Another ERA started for tanks. Heavy tanks were obsolote when heat rounds and newer AP rounds were made. Now MBT's gonna suffer the same fate, but these tanks can be upgraded. Except the western tanks since those are pretty heavy..
@@patriktoth6258 What do you mean with Upgrade? Mine protection? The chain will never be protected from mines on any tank. Or, drones or AP rounds? That is perhaps something for hardkill systems, all new tanks get this (If it's not too expensive😅)
@@Sachertortehmmlecker Yeah. Upgrade=Electronical jammer some sort and APS/Trophy system. Would be good for tanks and tech battalions would deal with the mines.
This is not a Tank War. Very few tanks are being killed by other tanks. Many tanks are being killed far beyond the range of their main gun. This might just be the War where Tanks and Tank Warfare has become Obsolete.
Only problem with saying that is that Ukraine tried doing it without tanks, and that didn't work well either. Artillery just kills everything, which has led me to believe that Wagneresque tactics of using expendable penal units to draw out enemy fire, as savage as they are, may be the most effective way of fighting this kind of war.
It has been claimed sincs WW1, but I think that things have changed to the tanks disadvantage now. Every vehicle that is hit, is destroyed. And with so many types of guided projectiles around today, there are lots of hits. Without protective armor the idea of a tank, is not a tank anymore. Perhaps active armor can revive the tank's role in warfare, but today the MBT doesn't seem to be worth its price, weight and logistics.
The Russian supersonic ATGMs can penetrate frontal armor of any Western tank. They would likely need to have trophy systems installed to stop full penetration.
ATGM’s aren’t super sonic Einstein🤦🏽 there is a reason that ATGM’s fly relatively slow compared to other rockets so you can control the missiles flight path on a target.
Leopard is the worlds best tank theorotically that was not really used in combat operations .. now seems when it is in combat, the flaws are for all to see.

You’re babbling bullshit. No tank is a fortress which can sustain a well layed artillery barrage, mines and ATGM nests, together with drone surveillance. These losses were already predicted and still are low compared what the Russians lost in their offensives so far (over 2100+ main battle tanks and counting). Ever wondered why you saw only one T-34 at the Red square on 9th May parade in 2023?
@patrickh3242 in this war, damned if you do, damned if you dont, Right now no country except Germany is sending tanks, L2A6 is new but not the latest, which is L2A7 and Panther.Russians have managed to use their old tanks which were in storage
Either side loses tanks, at large numbers actually. The problem isn't with the Leo, it's that people who know nothing about warfare were expecting a magic alien machine to destroy everything in its path.
Well the outcome from this war has been a good empirical test for highly exaggerated Western Military hype of their purported military superiority in weaponry. Such as MBTs, AFVs and the exorbitant price tag that went with their hyperbolic sales pitch. We now know the truth and no doubt this also translate in a massive DISCOUNT for Western weapons systems as Off the Shelf items for sale. Now we will see the German MBT GREATLY REDUCED value on the military market after their very MEDIOCRE display at the hands of $30,000 Lancet Drones and the VIKHR anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM) from the KA 52 hardpoints.again at a cost of $30,000 per ATGM. The Leopard 2 MBT was worth over $8million per MBT before June 4th 2023. The Leopard 2 MBT is now on the market at a dramatically reduced price to $6million per MBT in just one month. Still the price difference for a multimillion military asset compated to what can actually destroy it is comparably hubris for the weapons manufacturing industry, especially in the Tank manufacturing industry. Even worse still is the American Patriot Missile system worth well over $1 billion per Battery deployed to Kiev, which were destroyed by the Russian Kinzhal hypersonic missile, worth $4million per missile. Pentagon and Ukraine are in denial....But, those in the know....know.....😂🤣
thats rubbish. russia lost more tanks to Ukraine lost to them and some even through cheap drones. and U.S. bradleys are not even tanks but everyone in the bradley survived after anti tank missiles destroyed them, every tank on both sides have broken to anti tank missiles, and Russia has lost atleast 2000 tanks, including their most advanced stuff. contrast to Ukraine who lost only 74, destroyed or captured but has captured 117 russian tanks. so the western stuff is way better than Russian. we see how big of a failure that putin and his war in ukraine is going. in the end we will eventually see that the russians had done nothing but decimate their own military in the Ukraine conflict.
with all my respects sir, all what you are saying is pure propaganda from NATO nations to cover their mess. your figures have no basis those numbers come from western countries...all of them. you need to broaden your sources.
@@MrMarineti why does an italian think the russians can do better than America or other world key players? most of the russian tanks had to be abandoned when they ran out of fuel, as they had no way to refuel. and they had many more tanks destroyed than Ukraine has had. and in all this time, why do you think that Russia has made no gains and controls no territory? because they are ineffective and weak. all they achieved was decimate their own military. the proof is in the pudding.
It's funny how Westerners think so highly of their 40 years old weapons. They really do think that history ended in 1991, they don't fathom how poor, deindustrialized and technologically backwards they are, lacking highly skilled workers, barely graduating any engineers anymore. There was a video yesterday on telegram of FPV drone that costs no more than 40k $ striking ukrainian T-64 BV (2017) through it's 'Nizh' reactive armour and let it to burn in flames. Keep in mind that 'Nizh' era is better than Kontakt 5. The tanks in today's battlefield are just a metal coffins. The future is in precise artilery and drones
There is no indestructible tank. all equipment can be damaged and/or destroyed. Only advantage in modern tank is aux equipment making easier to aim/shut and harder to detect. When tank is detected then artillery or anti tank rocket launchers will defeat if. No matter what brand is MBT.
Let's not forget that even the primitive insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan were able to destroy or disable US Abrams tanks using improvised shape charges from common explosives. Modern armor, even with the best tech, can and will be pierced. The Leopard is renowned for it's offensive capabilities and speed - but armor wise it is quite low-rated compared to to the challenger or Abrams, so the fact Russia was able to destroy them is not remotely surprising. It doesn't help that UA forces were very foolish with their tanks and as you can see in the video, had them tightly packed together moving through a minefield when artillery took them out. Those tanks were lost because of human incompetence, had they been deployed properly and not through a damn active minefield they would have faired considerably more favorably.
Αll these tanks Leo2 Abrams T72 T90 etc etc were designed with one primary goal in mind to engage enemy armor from the front , So no vehicle that is 40 year old design can withstand the top attacks of kamikaze drones even if they dont get destroyed a mobility kill is crucial in the open fields of Ukraine.. So dont blame the designers of that era these vehicles were not made to battle drones etc they were made to fight armor to move fast with a combined arms doctorine which Ukraine does not have the assets to implement
The overrated Leopard tank failed miserably and the whole world watched and laughed at them burning. It must have been such a humiliation to the Germans.
There is nothing wrong with the Leopard tanks. Anti tank missiles are overpowered. Active protection systems should have been equipped on these great tanks
Yes, you can say that leopards were defeated, damaged or destroyed, but they are still very capable machines. However the biggest disaster of this war turned out to be Challenger 2 tanks. If you use google translate and read ukrainian battle reports and feedback's from elite forces like Azov, then you will see that ukrainians are in panic from Challenger 2, they are highly unreliable tanks constantly braking down and simply lacking motor power. Tank is good for deserts and paved roads but it is too weak for ukrainian terrain, it's not even capable of getting across hill or steep slope if there is no road . That is why ukrainians are using leopards, mraps and every single battle machine there is, except challenger! Challengers are being put far behind front line for city defence.
Leopard 1 is roughly the equivalent of T-62. Now, a tank is better than no tank, can be useful in support role. However, there is another problem there. In order to use its gun that way, he needs to expose itself since it is capable of direct fire only. Then, weak armor comes into place... After all, AMC-10RC has similar armor and 105mm gun and was supposed to be used that way, but it got massacred... But what baffles me the most is the following fact: when it was revealed that Russia was sending T-55 and 62, everybody in the west laughed and mocked the idea (not realizing that they have indirect fire ability as well as direct), but when their T-62 equivalent is sent, then it is an awesome stuff...
Leo1 is way more maneuverable and can shoot precisely day and night while moving. T-62 can't. And Leo1 can reverse as fast as it can go forwards. I have a friend who trained on T 72, Leo1 and 2. It is a huge disadvantage that the T needs to turn around to be able to go fast to cover. The Leos just drop In reverse.
@@hellmarch3043 knights, you’re basically talking about mounted warriors. Which back then was by horse or what US military calls the cavalry. Guess what the cavalry is now? Tanks and helicopters. Especially for supporting infantry.
Leopard is an awesome tank that Russian choose not to engage it head on but instead they prefer to destroy it from a distance long before it can see a Russian armor or infantry.

The Leo 1 not performing to the same level as more modern tanks was predictable. It was just to help hold the line and wasn't considered as a weapon system to defeat Russia. Frankly they have done their job. Ukraine was supposed to fall in days and over a year later they are pushing Russia out of their territory. Ukraine can use them still against mechanized infantry outfits and fortifications. Augmenting the other armor they're still perfectly capable and suitable for Ukraine. After this war is done Ukraine will have a hodgepodge of armor and the reformation of their forces will mean consolidation and standardization with the other military hardware being moved into reserve service. The Leopard 1s will likely fill this role unless they find some other party to move them to that needs armor to help. Chechens perhaps could use a donation assuming Germany will allow it.
Maybe it's time for a big fuck'n roll of the dice. Multiple armored columns thrust into Russian lines, unprecedented number of smoke shells to cover the advance.
Somewhere amongst the hawkest of Europeans must sense the war is unwinnable and L1 fares no better than L2. That big offensive the west harped about months? Ukraine took 5 of 60 miles of land - where much of those burning L2s met their fate. Russia planted stiff defenses before hand. NATO began and fueled this war, sacrificing Ukrainian lives.

Hardly true with 2009 Russian tanks lost
All tanks can be blown up! Air support and pre bombing of offensive battle field to clear the way for tanks. The $30,000 lancet seems to work very well to blow up the Leopards and Bradleys tanks.

@@TheKeithvidz Being dumb and corrupt enough to willingly be USAs cudgel to attack Russia sealed their fate from the word go.
That is the problem of tanks. Over 1300 destroyed russian tanks mbt (source: oryx) had the same problem

If it's got tracks, and you drive over an anti-tank mine, you're going to blow the tank track. It doesn't matter how tough the armour is.
This is not a Tank War. Very few tanks are being killed by other tanks. Many tanks are being killed far beyond the range of their main gun. This might just be the War where Tanks and Tank Warfare has become Obsolete.
That's never been said before.
Nonsense....

They've lost it and they live in denial about it.
Russian Technology such as much acclaimed Hypersonic Missiles that are too fast to be shot down were in fact hit down more than they made target. There is no indestructible tank. all equipment can be damaged and/or destroyed. Only advantage in modern tank is aux equipment making easier to aim/shut and harder to detect.

"Harder to detect" Maybe the T90M and other new tanks. But not a single tank in the world have good stealth capabilities
They are just good fighting camel and donkey!
They are getting destroyed with $30k Kamikaze drones - one of the biggest fails in military history.

There's almost nothing for Russian engineers to get from A.ericam or German tanks. 🤣
