Thank you for the awesome wing foil content, my friend. Absolutely loving the drone footage with the bro-down voiceover. So genuine and relatable. Cheers to you and your crew. 🤙🏽
Great content as usual. Thanks for sharing. I really appreciated the details on wing size and board size (with widths). More on the boards and also the wind power would be helpful. Liked the mention of wind dieing and being stuck outside with knee boarding home. Is anyone packing a 3 piece paddle or I saw some wingsails that have straps to hold a paddle in place, thoughts?
Thanks for the comment, I’m planning another video where we talk and show the gear we use in detail. I have seen people strap paddles to their wings but the small boards we use are easier to paddle like a surfboard on your belly.
tks for share, congrats team. it's sounds like easey to learn wingfoil, I believe because I have beeing sailing with kitefoil for 4 years. So, I have to try wingfoil.
I’m not sure, my biggest wing is 5m. Using a bigger wing will give you more pull but if the wingspan is too big, the tip will drag in the water sooner, so it can be harder to turn that pull into forward momentum.
@@blueplanetsurf great info, thank you. I was thinking a 5m would be better too because it'll be easier to manage. Looking forward to seeing more videos!
Iv been watching a lot of your videos and I was thinking about during key talking points having somthing like an arrow on the screen indicating wind direction. It might help visualize the geometry of tacking. Thanks for the content
That's the shit.... You never said how easy this sport is for somebody who has kite foiling and windsurfing experience.. It's more like windsurfing than windsurfing actually is. And puk paddling onto waves! Well Done Guys great footage - well explained
Depends on the size of the front wing on the foil... 10-15 knots then 1500 to 2000 is ok, but like they say, less turning ability on wave. Otherwise 20 knots then 1500 or less is fine
Jeff Switches his stance but it is quite challenging to switch you feet while flying the foil. Riding a wave is also very challenging if you are not in your natural stance. We will discuss this in next weeks video, so please stay tuned to the blueplanetsurf TH-cam channel! 🤙🏼
@@blueplanetsurf It looks like the other side of Diamond Head a popular windsurfing spot where I used to surf sometimes when I lived in Hawaii in the early sixties. That the Diamond Head lighthouse in the background? Looks like the trade winds have kicked in ? Appears to be almost cross off shore where the surfers are. What a nice spot to do what you guys are doing. I haven't learned how to foil yet but on my list. I have a wing however haven't learned how to use it yet. Thanks for the video! I am sure all the tips will come in handy when I am learning and looking forward to the next video. I feel so envious when I see you all flying and the water is relatively smooth. BE SAFE ALL!
Onshore wind is the safest but also the hardest since going upwind is almost impossible for beginners. Ideally go on a Downwinder and go back upwind by car. Watch this video on how we get newbies into the sport:
Thank you for this video! I learned so much from this content. Also helped make me happy during our quarantine. Im from Guam. Been dreaming so much of getting into this. I think this format is super useful for new wingers. get us stoked on the potential but also explain the tech issues and considerations, thanks!

Great video guys , thanks for the share and props to the drone pilots great footage.
Thanks Rob. I just listened to your Progression Project posdcast interview- good stuff! 🤙🏼

Stoked you like it, we plan to post more like it soon. 🤙🏼
Top notch video and audio. very entertaining and inspiring.
Sole wing foiler from Penghu Island of Taiwan.
Sweet, how are the conditions at Penghu Islands? 🤙🏼
Awesome footage! Great to hear all the different comments. Thanks for sharing the fun and excitement of wing foiling.
🙏😎🤙🏼
i know I am kind of randomly asking but does anyone know of a good website to stream new movies online ?
@Damon Walker flixportal =)
@Koa Jairo thank you, I went there and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :) I appreciate it!
@Damon Walker you are welcome :D
Another great vid, thanks Rob!
Thanks Mike, and thank you for the great drone footage, you are a pro pilot!
Great video ..I'm stoked to try it out..
Thanks, it’s a whole lot of fun when you get the hang of it 🤙🏼

Yes it’s not hard to learn if you have foiling and wind sport experience🤙🏼
Great content! Glad you guys are still able to get out on the water.
Which wing makes the most low end power for getting started in light wind??
I’m not sure, my biggest wing is 5m. Using a bigger wing will give you more pull but if the wingspan is too big, the tip will drag in the water sooner, so it can be harder to turn that pull into forward momentum.

Thank you, yes it’s easy to learn if you have some wing/ foiling background and I agree, it’s more fun to foil rather than paddling back out.
How many knots wind?
I would say about 10-15 knots and the wind died towards the end of our session.
Depends on the size of the front wing on the foil... 10-15 knots then 1500 to 2000 is ok, but like they say, less turning ability on wave. Otherwise 20 knots then 1500 or less is fine
Excellent video, congratulations and thanks for your advice. One question: I saw that you never switch your feet ... why? is there a reason?
Jeff Switches his stance but it is quite challenging to switch you feet while flying the foil. Riding a wave is also very challenging if you are not in your natural stance. We will discuss this in next weeks video, so please stay tuned to the blueplanetsurf TH-cam channel! 🤙🏼
Such a great video guys, super easy to digest and full of good info. Can’t wait for the next one. Keep it up!
Btw where on the island is this?
🙏 thanks! We try not to name the exact spots but this is in Honolulu on Oahu’s south shore

Great video thanks, do you all use foot straps? Cheers from N.Z.
Daniel is not using straps, while Derek, Jeff and I are using them. We will talk more about straps in next weeks video. 🤙🏼
Excellent stuff...Any recommended place to learn wing foiling in Florida?
Sorry, I’m not familiar with Florida wing foiling spots, best to ask local wingers or windsurfers or kite surfers.
for beginners is practicing in onshore wind ideal? or cross shore?
Onshore wind is the safest but also the hardest since going upwind is almost impossible for beginners. Ideally go on a Downwinder and go back upwind by car. Watch this video on how we get newbies into the sport:

@@blueplanetsurf Hafa Adai! Thank you! I'll be in touch with you guys soon.
Daniel mentioned he was using a modified Maliko tailwing, would he elaborate on that modification?
Most of the guys here using the GoFoil Maliko tail wing have modified it by making it smaller and/ or flattening the angle, I’ll try to get some pics.
"WingFoil Leaks Happens" Demonstrate: How to remove bladder to find & repair leaks? Does Blue Planet have repair kits? "Like video"👍🤙
Hi Paul, that’s a good idea! Most wings come with repair kits and we can order replacement bladders on request for our customers.
I’m here
Thanks for watching Jeff!
