"Bernardo Faria is a 5x World Champion. Bernardo started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Juiz de Fora - MG, Brazil at the age of 14 in 2001. After receiving the Black Belt from his first instructor Ricardo Marques in 2008, He moved to Sao Paulo to join BJJ legend Fabio Gurgel and his Alliance team. After many years of training and winning many major titles, Bernardo moved to NYC in 2013 to train and teach at Marcelo Garcia Academy. In 2015 Bernardo achieved his dream of winning the IBJJF World Championship Open class title and his division, doing the double Gold and becoming the 1st in the IBJJF Ranking and also chosen as the best athlete of 2015.

@@kevinobrien5457 hgh and test to recover a good diet for better cardio strength and recovery. He was living off ramen noodles and birds eye packages. Plus he's already had a few back issues and he's only in his 20s.

Andrew's answer was so interesting, it's exactly how I am. Crap, all these dudes are going to wreck me - I'm going to go make conversation with them to ease the tension and maybe they will go easy on me.
I personally can't stomach talking with my opponents before rolling. Like I really want to because as a fellow athlete and martial artist, I truly respect their efforts, but at the same time I feel like I have to somewhat dehumanize them so I don't feel bad if I beat them.

The high anxiety life can make you a stickler for the details and preparation. Still, butterflies are out in full force when running a race, stepping in the batter’s box, and certainly when competing in BJJ. There are positives and negatives to being overly anxious.

I am not a fan of gordon ryan as a person, but i am a fan of his abilities and skill in No-Gi grappling and the way he teaches BJJ concepts. Just got into watching his videos, and he really is the best and he has a great mind for the sport and for teaching, so I do give him all the respect and credit as I watch his videos and learn BJJ stuff from him. I also am becoming a fan of Andrew Wiltse and have recently gotten into watching and learning different things from his youtube channel, so its wild to see both of them together with Bernardo!

Before contests music gives me anxiety too. Not sure why. Every other thing it pumps me up for but for competition it gives me anxiety.
Yeh you can see Gordan rides his doubts but has an type of overview position to his matches!
Lmao my first tournament I made the mistake of not warming up at all and got blown into full fight or flight mode on the mats

When you are training 8 hours a day and your competition works 8 hours a day..it would give me ultimate confidence as well. Both are at another level regardless.

I started BJJ at 35y/o been doing it 7 years now, the anxiety leading up before a competition is the only reason I never really competed. its humbling to know these guys are world class competitors and its something they experience before a match.

I really like both these guys ..great stuff. Oh an as far as stalling as Gordan says or positionally out moving your opponent.. That can save your azz in real life . Its called self defense. Just a 24 yr vet of law enforcement an seen it all on the street. Nice video though thanks

I think that Gordon has really helped Jiujitsu as a whole for the way he always talks about the importance of submission. It is something that has been lost for the last decade or so, at a time where Jiujitsu became completely dominated by people who focused completely on open guard, with incredibly technical Berimbolo/Crab ride etc. Not that I am against that either, It's just the fact that submissions/escapes should be the main concern of a Jiujitsu practitioner.

Normally when I show up! Is hysterical. I like Danahers Philosophy! curious if he developed that from his Doorwork! Nerves are a curious thing in fighting. I literally used to not be able to see properly in fights and my vision was distorted and black like tunnel vision. That was until in my late teens I walked home with a Guy who was a local gangster, and I literally saw this guy under a train viaduct fight 5 or 6 guys. I kind of tried to show support because he was outnumbered and after he destroyed these guys I walked home in the same direction of him and had this psychological discussion asking him about his Nerves. What I did have was a good grasp of psychology in my late teens and NLP. From that nights dialogue with him my nerve started to disappear. I literally saw him put a guy through a window whilst still eating a burger with his other hand who went to right cross him. He gripped the guy by the throat and threw him through the Kebab shop window. I like also Gordan has zero ego in expressing weakness and that is why he is peak on his game!

Not seen the guy. Saw the last BJJ video he did and you can see he is strong. Is he Irish? and you can tell his placement timing is a beat ahead. Natural Guy, genetic in his face hard stock guy. Where gordan has had to overcome himself! Which is a battle in itself.
