It is exceptionally light weight and overall exactly what I was looking for. I was given one of the smaller snow blowers which is a two-stroke engine and you could plug in to a extension cord and push a button and it would start. Fortunately by the third time of me going out there my one neighbor who I'm close with ask if he could start using it also and we can trade off on who goes out there. So that's what we did every blizzard that year we would have our sidewalks and driveways cleared and where other neighbors did not clean up we used it as a barrier to let our dogs run back and forth from each other's house. I do have to say despite all the hard work that was probably my favorite blizzard here. It was just something so peaceful about it. When it got dark out that's when I would fire up the fireplace. Not knowing if we would lose electricity I only made fires at night. To this day I still have that same snow blower and for where we live it's pretty much all I need. Hi Fred, glad you enjoyed the video. We all get to that day when we realize its time to invest in something new. I can assure you that you won’t regret purchasing a machine like this one. Nice! Amazing what you can do with the perfect consistency fluffy snow and creepy-crawley speed! Those tracks definitely help in conditions like this. I'm sure my Ariens Platinum with it's 420cc and impeller kit can do that too but I don't think it would be as easy as with this tracked unit. I guess if you pay 3 grand you should expect this kind of performance!

@@nocoolname32 I repowered mine with a 420cc snow engine. It was a 2012 model that came stock with a Briggs 1150 series, I think. A 24" bucket with a 420cc engine and custom made impeller pulley to increase the impeller speed. Of course it had the impeller mod and various other modifications to make it one snow shooting machine. It was actually too much machine for where I live in central Ohio so I sold it to a guy in Minnesota.

Great video! The hydro really comes in handy in the deep snow. Sometimes you need to crawl so the machine can handle the depth of snow entering the augers. When I got my Toro Power Max HD 1232 first gear was a bit too fast, so I adjusted the gear shift rod and that took care of the problem. I can now crawl in first gear to deal with deep snow. The Pro Ariens machines can really get the job done. They have one of the better track designs as well.
@@brandonmurphy4657 Truth.I live in Chicago, where you used to be able to count on the average snowfall to be at least 6 inches... most times even more, because of the lake effect. But the last 4-5 winters, you can get by with a shovel, or a single stage machine. I ran out, and bought an Ariens Deluxe 28 SHO two falls ago, and only used it maybe 3 times so far, I shoveled the rest of the times it snowed.I don't know what I was thinking about.
WOW, it would be overkill for my urban driveway in southern Ontario but if you have the snow and property for it, what a pleasure that unit must be to use.
I've had my current Ariens 28 for 30 years and consider it new. Unfortunately, it won't quit, but I'd love to switch up to a new 24 or 28 Ariens rapid track
I know the Honda Fanboys out there won't believe it. But as a guy that's worked on snowblowers for about 15 years these professional rapid track units are monsters.
Good ol’ Ariens, the King of Snow. My little Compact 24 w/ the AX 208 out throws all of my neighbors bigger snowblowers. Seeing the huge arc of snow is so satisfying when your neighbors can only throw the snow 5-10 feet lol!
Love the video, love the machine! The Ariens Pro machines are hands down the best you can buy. Add the hydro tranny and RapidTrak and you have something that no other machine can touch.
@@alc4693 I have seen the new stuff coming out for next season. I'm very interested in hearing more about them because I was already going to upgrade to a Pro 32 hydro RapidTrak for next year. It's going to replace my oldest currently still used machine, an Ariens 1332 Pro from 2005 that has an ungodly amount of commercial use hours on it.
Great machine! The demo showed it's weaker throwing side (left) and I was SO waiting for the turnaround at the end with chute pivoted 180 to see how far it would throw, (am I the only one?) but alas... no climax. 😂
A great video showing how the Pro 28 works. You can plainly hear... how effortless it sounds with handling 24" of the lighter kind of snow. But from 10:20 - 10:40 it simply shows why I would never own a track machine with how more difficult it is to maneuver. I understand that some people would need the tracks in certain situations, but for what I have to clear, tracks would never be needed and would make the job a bit harder.
I run a wheeled Ariens Platinum 24 SHO here in New Hampshire. The video between 10:20 - 10:40 looks no different (no harder or easier) to when I'm blowing 2' of snow in the flat grass/backyard. But on a sloping, irregular 130' asphalt driveway, it can be a real wrestling match and upper body workout sometimes....and that's with a wheeled Ariens w/Auto-Turn. I've seen people run Ariens/RapidTrak around here...and switch between wheeled/track mode, it looked pretty easy to me and that was in conditions with snow exceeding 2-3 feet at times. But that was the whole idea behind RapidTrak...having the best of all worlds....wheeled and track.
As I stated, some people would need the track system, but I would not. My driveway is 100' long with a slight upgrade towards the garages. And my modified 1971 Ariens does very well... in almost 3' of snow that I have used her in. I did watch the Ariens video about their rapid track system and I think it is an excellent invention. The only thing that I did think was not a good thing was the speed of the machine when adjusted to the back side of those tracks. To me... a machine does not have to move that quickly.
@@kielbasaglen6843 "...it simply shows why I would never own a track machine with how more difficult it is to maneuver." Yes, and I thought the same as you until I tried a Platinum 28 SHO RapidTrak (a relatives machine) and compared it to the wheeled Platinum 24 SHO I'm currently running. I think you might find yourself pleasantly surprised... As a kid, I remember quite well running these machines from the '60s and 70's. We still have a few around to this day. Here's a 71 Ariens that should look familiar to you. th-cam.com/video/HF9mwQ6B_eU/w-d-xo.html
That 1971 Ariens machine is the machine that I have. Adding all of my modifications just made it a much better machine. We are just comparing a medium size machine to a monster size machine.
And worth every penny. Think about your back, I could not tell you how many times I tried to help mine with just tires. Every time you try to help it you end up lifting the tires up off of the ground and you go nowhere. Just from a frustration standpoint the cost would be worth it. Wish I had a track model. Next time for sure.
I have a 28 Ariens myself. Governor isnt even bogging down.. You could run threw that stuff at twice the speed!! Easy… that chute blowing would be twice as impressive! I loved the video though!!

Once he picks up a rock and takes out a window with it he'll stop pointing the chute at the house. lol... We used to have a similar size but wheeled unit from Ariens. Love the way the big impellers on the ariens throw super far, but I would aim that chute down a bit so it doesn't blow all back in my face! He could have actually ran a notch faster through this type of snow with that machine. It had more to give. The engine only sounded like it was giving about a 40% effort. They really start thumping when you load them hard.
Hi Eric M, there’s no windows in that old abandoned farmhouse. As far as how fast I was going, the machine was fairly new, about 6 to 8 hours on it at the time, so I was taking it a little easy on the machine.

Only complaint I got for any of the ariens is how slow they back up sure they throw wonderful and to turn them after doing 55 places ur back and shoulders sure feel it
Good video of one actually in snow, most watching must have junk because any decent one will blow snow that far once the engine revs up and the speed is right even my 30 yr old MTD 1028.
I just did the same amount of snow from this last Northeast "Blizzard", with an el cheapo powersmart I got for free. Someone threw it away and I brought it back to life. Didn't even break a sweat.
Hi agb218, yes I did add the lights to the bucket,I found the factory light didn’t do a very good job. The conduit you see is what’s called wire loom I searched out on the internet. There’s a lot of snowblower videos on electrical specifics on how to convert ac to dc and run the wiring. After that it’s a matter of how and where you want to mount the lights.
Theres a guy 2 posts up with an old track drive 5hp Craftsman calling his machine a beast. It was throwing 3 inches of snow 6 feet away. I have a 30 year old tracked Yamaha 624. It’ll throw light snow as high as my second story roof. Good machine or bad, you cant beat a machine with tracks. You just cant. Anything ive ever had with wheels just climbs on top of any snow thats heavy. You spend half the time wrestling with it.
Cool machine 😎 I would of had fun and try to aim all of the snow ❄ in on pile to make a giant snow mountain if that was possible, the call the kids out!

So much fun and accomplishment I just brought one yesterday and am praying for snow.
I've been admiring these since watching other videos, but here in
Canada 🇨🇦, they're ~ $5K {+}.
Not trying to be overly critical here either but oce thing I notice is a lot of people are taking videos of snowblowing their grass… I guess that’s what you have to do to get clicks! So much for reality...
@@SCraig-Handsome happy new year hello from Harrisburg Pennsylvania 🇺🇸Here’s my short video I had blowing snow in the city sideways th-cam.com/video/FwPpLZoYFeA/w-d-xo.html
can you get the platinum in 420cc? I thought only the pro model got that engine size.
@@nocoolname32 the platinum 30 comes with it
This is the best video of the rapidtrak!! On TH-cam you can really tell how much that thing is a beast. Kudos to you! And plus u know how to operate it
George Baker Thanks George, the RapidTrak is really a breeze to operate, once you learn how to marry together control functions in sequence,it’s a nice machine to operate.
the traction you get with tracks vs wheels is amazing.
Ok this is fascinating to watch ….I just tuned mine up! Thanks for posting
When My MTD from 1995 goes to snow blower heaven . My bet is this is the one I will buy in a heart beat . Works just like my old one but it does throw the snow at least 10 feet further
That’s some serious snow. Very powerful blower. Thanks!
This is awesome! Its refreshing to watch a person with a lot of experience cleaning snow. Thank you!
Thanks for watching 😁
I own the same. And this video is one rare one that shows realy what this machine can do.
Gros Buck , They are a nice machine, thanks for watching.
When your snowthrower costs more than your house. LoL. JK.
Nice video.
If I lived where it snowed a lot, I'd get a tracker like this.
Please post again with damp, heavy snow.
I have an Ariens Pro 32. It’s even better in heavy wet snow. The engine really kicks in and shoots it
@@Peppy11769 Hello from Harrisburg Pennsylvania 🇺🇸 Happy new Year 🥳🍾🥂🎊🎈🥳 I also have a Ariens Pro 32 And 💯 percent agree with you these professional RapidTrak machines are a beast in the snow th-cam.com/video/FwPpLZoYFeA/w-d-xo.html
Yes. please do a update?
Hmmmm....... Seems like someone customized their Armorskids with Ariens paint!
AWESOME video... Thank you.
That's a bonkers amount of snow. That thing was purring like a kitten, no problem for the Ariens.
That’s nothing just got 30 inches in ny
Great video! The hydro really comes in handy in the deep snow. Sometimes you need to crawl so the machine can handle the depth of snow entering the augers. When I got my Toro Power Max HD 1232 first gear was a bit too fast, so I adjusted the gear shift rod and that took care of the problem. I can now crawl in first gear to deal with deep snow. The Pro Ariens machines can really get the job done. They have one of the better track designs as well.
Thanks for the comments, happy snow blowing!
I love watching that blower eat up the snow,,,does my heart good 👍. Nice video.
Thanks for watching
Good ole American company. Ariens: the king of snow.
Engine made in china
@@brandonmurphy4657 Yep, and that’s what usually gives them the most trouble...the Chinese LCT engines. They’re garbage.
@@jamesorsby7553 I want to buy a Honda, but I don't get enough snow to justify the purchase of one
@@brandonmurphy4657 All snowblower engines are made in China. But LCT is an American company at least, unlike Loncin.
The only thing I would add are drift cutters just incase, that’s the only thing missing.
That snow arc is beautiful.
Good ol’ Ariens, the King of Snow. My little Compact 24 w/ the AX 208 out throws all of my neighbors bigger snowblowers. Seeing the huge arc of snow is so satisfying when your neighbors can only throw the snow 5-10 feet lol!
@@RyGuy1538 I would venture to think your neighbors snowblowers are in dire need of maintenance
Love the video, love the machine! The Ariens Pro machines are hands down the best you can buy. Add the hydro tranny and RapidTrak and you have something that no other machine can touch.
Hi, they are a nice machine. Have you seen the new 2021 models? They look awesome. Thanks for watching.
@@smallblock412 Sounds cool, try and make a video and post it, there’s lots of people here that would like to see it.
@@alc4693 I plan on it 👍
@@alc4693 Well, I decided to go all out. I have a Kraken on pre-order.
Great machine! The demo showed it's weaker throwing side (left) and I was SO waiting for the turnaround at the end with chute pivoted 180 to see how far it would throw, (am I the only one?) but alas... no climax. 😂
Yeah, always blows further to the right, due to rotation of the secondary blower fan. Sometimes you don't have a choice. Love my Ariens!
@@tombeyer375 So do I... mine's 52 yrs. old and throws snow like a beast. (32" scoop, re-powered with HarborFrieght 14hp turnkey motor)
@@brianalexandre1125 Cool! Those things will last forever with a few parts here and there.
But that was the whole idea behind RapidTrak...having the best of all worlds....wheeled and track.
mboiko , hi, I couldn’t have said it any better.
@@kielbasaglen6843 "...it simply shows why I would never own a track machine with how more difficult it is to maneuver."
Yes, and I thought the same as you until I tried a Platinum 28 SHO RapidTrak (a relatives machine) and compared it to the wheeled Platinum 24 SHO I'm currently running.
That thing is a beast!!!!
Excellent video, thanks. My needs are MUCH less, I have a 520E and I love it. I try to buy not only US made, but Wisconsin made if possible.
Thanks, it’s good to hear there are people still concerned about buying American made products. Happy snow blowing.
Put wings on it and do 3 passes in one! :D
Hello from Canada 🇨🇦... I enjoyed your video. Thanks for sharing. Take care.
And Thank You for watching. 😁
That thing is a beast. Not a big fan of tracks on a snowblower. Maybe slightly better traction but definitely more expensive to replace.
Hi, I do run it harder now than I did back then. At the time it only had about 6 to 8 hours on it,so it was still in a break in period.
We run the 420s at our school, they absolute monsters. Doesn't loose power. Not super efficient but BETTER then a honda in my opinion. Its more HD
It will blow snow on the way back
1:36 this is soooo satisfying
I like that part too. It was like swallowing up a hedge made of snow.
I dont get enough snow but that is one hell of a snowblower
That's some deep snow. Takes power to do that kind of work.
Great video. It would be nice to see some snow blowing at night to see how bright the led lights are.
I”ll try and get that done.
@@alc4693 "Do or do not, there is no try". 😆 great video though. I'm getting one of these bad boys for sure!
ryan Hols Thanks, they are a nice machine.
That's not a snowblower, it's a snow cannon. Ariens builds a quality machine.
More like a snow rifle that’s throwing far very nice machine
I bought the same exact machine last year. Absolutely ♥️ it. It's a freaking BEAST. Built heavy duty with plenty of power. Chucks that EOD heavy plowed snow with no issue.
I still have my father’s from 1969. It still runs like top.
Ariens have Chinese engine my boy. Chinese means quantity not quality hahaha.
quality is Honda and Yamaha snow blowers, the rest is made in China, stop your lies.
@@briggsdidnotstrapem7699 Ariens AX engines are made by an American company LCT. They are just assembled in China because they have a factory there. Not like it's using China parts. No different than auto manufacturers having parts made there. They still have strict standards to go by. So no, it's not a Chinese engine.
Great piece of kit. I'd say I want one, but having about 1/2" maximum fall, it may be overkill.
It's 3 thousand plus dollars lol, it's definitely overkill for that.
Hey, you never know when you might get a 1 inch blizzard! 👍 😋
This is extremely satisfying to watch.
I use my Deere 3320 w/ 6'front loader and 5' rear rollover. and gotta say I would have gone out a few times if possible. I often plow for folks with snow throwers. It either won't start or the snow wetness just wont work on that thrower. Snow is a bear not matter what ya got and other issues. Like pleasing 20 customers all at 6am even though none of them is going anywhere for 3 days.
Hi, itsruf1, I understand about pleasing customers, I’m in the service industry too. This is an old farmstead used as hunting property. It was the first time I was able to use it in virgin snow just to see how it would do. We do have a newer cabin on the property and go up a number of times throughout the winter. So it wasn’t like l was doing it for no useful reason. Thanks for watching.
I used to have an Ariens lawn/utility tractor. It was the best tractor I've ever owned, and I've owned about ten.
Next snowblower I buy is gonna be a ariens. I bought a cub cadet a couple years back that was a good deal on sale and I needed one it's a good machine but I like ariens better.
I have same model and its a great machine. I find my new one and old one both like deeper snow.
I'm A Bit More Of An ATV Plow Kinda Guy With a Snow Blower For the areas I cant Get To With The plow......However....That sucker was Kickin Butt and Taking Names❗

@@alc4693 Aha! All good rationale. Great machine there. Thanks for sharing!
Plot twist: That's not even his house. He just loves running this badass machine and goes around doing the driveways of random people.
Thanks I thought about enjoying a winter morning this morning in So. Cal.
This machine is the beast. Wow!
Best snow blower review on TH-cam, and because of this review, I know what to buy.
Most snow blow reviews you get consists of an intellectual jibber jabbin' hippie clearing 1" of California sidewalk dust, whereas this fella into a TUNDRA! #YOUBETCHA!
Great machine, performs so well
This is the best snow removal video out there.
Glad you enjoyed it,thanks for watching.
That snowblower is putting in some work, but handling it with ease.
Just happy to not see globs of snow. Looks like someone just carved it out and the snow disappeared.
It's very satisfying to watch.
Only complaint I got for any of the ariens is how slow they back up sure they throw wonderful and to turn them after doing 55 places ur back and shoulders sure feel it
When you get really deep snow like this the first pass takes a while but after that it's a piece of cake.
Ego could handle this amount of snow no problem..
Said no one ever!
Good video of one actually in snow, most watching must have junk because any decent one will blow snow that far once the engine revs up and the speed is right even my 30 yr old MTD 1028.
when your snowblower is nicer than the house it's trying to get to.
Happy New Year's
That snowblower sure looks more expensive than that house, LOL!
that machine is dangerous sir...wow
Those tracks seem to be an improvement over the knobby tires I have on my 15 year old Ariens.
Грамотно человек работает! Не насилует технику! Респект!
Gotta say that whatever bbrand that is should have your video in every dealer store. May comp you with the plastic shield for your face. God job sir.
Looks like an awesome machine. I can imagine how much that rascal costs.
You should have done half of the driveway with the snowblower, and the other half with a snow shovel, so we could see the difference! 😄 😁 😅
And then three months of visits to the Chiropractor.
That looks like a real good snowblower… I’m in the market and this just may be the one for me 😃
I just did the same amount of snow from this last Northeast "Blizzard", with an el cheapo powersmart I got for free. Someone threw it away and I brought it back to life. Didn't even break a sweat.
@@tomc8157 that’s better then all the shoveling I’ve been doing the past 2 days….ugh

Ariens. Snowblower of the gods.
did you add the lights on the shroud for the auger? very nice would like video on that, what type of conduit did you use? looks like seal tight flex
@@alc4693 thanks for the update
This video is very therapeutic
Theres a guy 2 posts up with an old track drive 5hp Craftsman calling his machine a beast. It was throwing 3 inches of snow 6 feet away.
I have a 30 year old tracked Yamaha 624. It’ll throw light snow as high as my second story roof. Good machine or bad, you cant beat a machine with tracks. You just cant. Anything ive ever had with wheels just climbs on top of any snow thats heavy. You spend half the time wrestling with it.
I agree, thanks for watching.
Guy? That looks like a 10yo kid lolll
I learned the hard way to buy a snowblower with the largest engine.
Cool machine 😎 I would of had fun and try to aim all of the snow ❄ in on pile to make a giant snow mountain if that was possible, the call the kids out!
Aint No electric blower doing that tree huggers!
I bought an old used Craftsman from someone and it works good but only throws about 6ft. Haha
Next year I’m buying an Ariens for sure
Just tune it up… I bet the belts are shot/out of adjustment
It’s got a nice Briggs and Stratton on it as well.
