What a lovely surprise to see Olly’s grin alongside Mike’s and catch some of this live. Two gents of booktube, both of whom love King as I do and whose reviews for McCammon and McMurtry sparked my journey with their works. Great stuff, chaps.
Great head to head, love seeing book lovers having a chat. My most read authors to date are Stephen King, Ed McBain, Terry Pratchett and Graham Masterton. I do love reading Horror, Fantasy, Sci-Fi and now to a lesser extent crime. Just now my most read authors come from Fantasy and Sci Fi. Enjoying Sanderson, Tchaikovsy, Hobb, Gwynne, Abercrombie, Cahill, Ruocchio etc. I am now 66 and have been a lover of books since the early days of Alastair MacLean, James Herbert, Stephen King and still look forward to the next King book. I have read them all and love most of them. I have read over 1100 novels so far and look forward to reaching over 2000! Keep up the good work Mike, constant reader.
Oh my goodness! I live a couple of miles from the caves in Scotland. It was a horror family! Would pull people off horses & never seen again. It’s in the lowlands on the coastal main road A77 💫
Vampires always had sexy undertones but I do think the pendulum will swing back. I am hopeful for the new Nosferatu and (I haven't seen it yet but color me hopeful) Salem's Lot are some possible glimpses of these classic monsters being brought back into the fold of true horror. Awesome content and a great colab! Thanks for introducing me to so many books and authors!
Question-What do you do while listening to an audiobook? I do not listen to audio books, however, when I read I have classical music playing, but no vocals which I find affect my concentration. Hooked on your channel.
I got a bunch of books for my reading list. Enjoy both channels. I have read Neville and enjoyed it. I added Shaun Hudson and James Herbert to name a few. I need to read more crime fiction.
Great conversation. There are plenty of booktubers who cover horror, beside Rachel and Jason you can check out Gabby Reads and Gavin Reads It All. (But they don't cover horror exclusively). If you like vintage horror Cameron Chaney has a great channel, and he's a published writer as well.
Ooooh! Two worlds collide! This is the Booktube Cinematic Universe collab we needed! I'm watching this with my curry. 🍛 📺
Great conversation and guest! I love Criminolly!
He was a scholar and a gentleman.
The best crossover! Two of my fave booktubers in one place!
Nice! I follow you both for thoughts on books ❤
Very good conversation, Olly was impressively composed, as was the guy with Wi-fi! Cool to see.
Two of my favourites in one place! Only a third of the way in but loving it so far!
Thanks for hanging out!

I gotta check out McBain
Just finished Lonesome Dove and it might be the best book I've ever read. Highly recommend to anybody.
It's amazing
WOW didnt realise this was here my two fav tubers.
Ill make a drink and settle down and watch this one guy"s
Cheers🥃
Wow would have never expected Olly to say he’s a big fan of Corner Gas! Deep cut for Canadians let alone someone from the UK.
So excited for this collaboration!!
You gotta love HorrorBabble! I also discovered it this year. Love it!
YES OLLY! Get Mike on the Stephen Graham Jones train!!!!
Indians gets such divisive reviews.
Olly was the first booktuber I watched. Has crazy good horror recs in my opinion
Great Conversation! Olly has a cool vibe!
This was a great conversation! So much fun!!

Sawney Bean & his Clan! It was bugging me lol chilling tales when I was young 💫
Yes to S.A Cosby !
SA Cosby is amazing. One of my favorite authors.
I'll certainly check some out
I actually discovered Ed McBain because "Fuzz" was on a list of David Foster Wallace's favourite books lol
My two absolute favorite booktubers on the same screen? Gotta be in heaven!
Really interesting convo!
Thanks!

Feels like the tide is turning a bit with that audience more interested in Romantasy now.
An awesome book that makes you look over your shoulder especially if you are reading it at night, "The Shuddering" by Ania Ahlborn.
I'm reading Seed by her right now and it's genuinely creepy. Glad to hear The Shuddering is good as well
Nice!
Thanks for watching!
Connolly, James Lee Burke, Dennis Lehane for crime fiction
Horrorbabble is GREAT
I thought this was Wolverine vs. Deadpool…
I'm pretty sure Olly drives a Honda Odyssey.

I’m reading through Reilly Sager books The last time I lied was really good

Good list! Plenty of good stuff out there.
Holy shit!
I've been called worse.

I'm subbed to Gavin, I was just drawing a blank when I brought it up
Mike, you shouldn't feel intimidated by Horrorbabble. I would very much like to hear your reading of Lovecraft. Make it your own. Happy reading.
Think I'm going to try Poe
Have either of you seen the TV series Ultraviolet with Idris Elba? Great vampire programme
James Herbert went to my school - The Rats was set there
Nice!
Urban Fantasy kind of hijacked a lot. I'd be blaming the Anita Blake series over the seductive vampires instead of monster vampires.
I've had her books recommended a lot in my Dresden videos.
@@mikesbookreviews I'm not a fan of smut, tried one of her books, and it got smutty fast.
Holy shit! Two of my favorites. It's like multiverse thing going on here.😂❤
Thanks for stopping by!
This was a great talk guys. Needed to plug Garbaugust and Garbology. Happy reading everyone.
Thanks for watching!
