One shot at a time fella, you know the craic with links golf, think it round, plenty of patience and use that putter around the greens. All the very best mate.
If you can stay focused and think it all out you could shoot a 70, maybe lower still. It will depend on how good you are at uneven lies. That means an adjustment to the flighting itself. If you have that, you can score on a links course. Just remember, most links courses allow for run-ups onto the greens, and do so with great intent. It is "old man's golf" sort of. Instead of fighting holding the greens when its slopes towards the back of the green, rolling onto the green instead of flying it can give you more options or choices, as to hitting green positioning.
Good luck Simon. Keep your patience it's going to be windy so scraping those pars and bogies will be key. Anything 6 to 7 over would be a good effort in such conditions I reckon
Yeah hopefully the conditions are favourable, but same for everyone I guess. Short game feels ten times better than romsey, so hopefully will produce some good stats for you guys!
Hi Simon. wanted to say hello. fairly new to the channel and subscribed. Really like the genuine honest approach you have to your vlogs. Very insightful to hear your thought process along your journey. Good to see veiwers rooting for you. Yourself and Golf Vlogs UK are my go to channels. both great channels with totally different approach equally entertaining. wanted to give you some support and encouragement. Well done so far keep it going. Gary
hi Gary and thank you for joining the team. Yeah i have been overwhelmed by the support from the channel and it has definitely given me that extra boost to work hard on my game. Thank you for the support mate and i wont let you all down!
I hope you took lots of notes during your practice round. If you do know where to position yourself, you'll have a good chance at scoring well. I hope you blister and scorch the course, and fire a new course record! I would love the hear that you took command of the golf course. One reminder.... use the roll out on all entries into the green. Critical on links course play.
I played Hayling a couple of weeks ago again under virtually any wind! I've played it a couple of times before but totally forgot about how many blind shots their were haha, it's safe to say I lost a couple of balls in the gorse! Good luck in the South Regionals my man!
Good luck tomorrow Simon. Links courses are so hard, I've only played one before at Tenby and I thought I hit a good shot and the fairways would carry the ball into the rough. Play well and enjoy it. Go low!!! (Ps did you get my instagram message??)
All the best Simon.
Good luck tomorrow Bud.
Man I love these videos
