@@TrashDudeMatt they were running out of landfill space think there is a transfer or MRF someplace few years ago they were shipping trash from hawaii to ca since we have lot of landfills same with recycle im not sure if they still are
Majority of trash in Honolulu goes to H-POWER where it is burned and converted to electricity. H-POWER also sorts and recycles ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Historically residents were told to throw away any steel cans and not bring them to the recycle sites as they were recycled via the H-POWER plant.
