Your experience with your mother in law is so normal and no you aren't crazy or overreacting! I went through the exact same thing with mine and it was very stressful. She lives very close to us so she was always coming over and sometimes even just surprise visits. I resented her for the first year of my daughter's life because of her crossing boundaries for example just coming in my room and picking up my daughter from her bassinet without even asking. It was honestly kind of a nightmare. 😅 I will say my daughter is 2 now and things are much better and I am actually happy to have her take my daughter now. Lol. I think the newborn stage is just so vulnerable and new moms often don't want anyone taking their baby which totally makes sense! Of course your MIL is excited but your feelings are also totally valid!

Thank you! Yeah, that was my exact thought that probably when my daughter is older, I wouldn’t mind anyone to be that involved and taking care of her because that would let me rest. However, you are totally right saying that newborn stage is very vulnerable time for new mothers and babies as well and it’s hard when people are overstepping and ignoring your boundaries. And it’s twice as hard to set those boundaries in place without overreaction or hurting somebody’s feelings when you’re all hormonal and hurt as well. 😅

Give her tummy time , where you can see her. Watch some videos how to get rid of gas. Pushing the legs up. Massage her to settle.

Yeah, did all that multiple times a day and it didn’t work 🥲 she just didn’t know how to relax her but to do that but magically couple weeks after she finally figured it out and we haven’t used gas passer since

@@yana-f. for sleeping put her in another room, darkened in day. My granddaughter had trouble sleeping, my daughter had to get a specialist to help. The very first time she slept 5 hours, just from a room change.
