- I got to play this slightly out-of-tune upright piano at my grandma's house this Thanksgiving! Thought I'd record a nice video.

The “out of tune” sound makes me think of someone coming to clear out their childhood home after a parent has passed or something, and they found the piano under a bed sheet and started having memories of learning to play with Mom, so they dusted it off, felt the keys for a few seconds, closed their eyes, took a shallow breath… and this came out. Beautiful.

little personal story but a couple years ago my great grandma died. we hadn’t been to her house much in recent years but we were there relatively frequently back when we were younger. enough that a noticeable amount of learning to play piano was done on her piano.
anyways, we went to her house to take stuff and clean it out. drove my mom’s car, which was given to her by my great grandma. it was fitting seeing it in the carport one last time. my mom and grandma left to grab some things which left me alone, and i found the piano again, left in its usual spot. still had the one random dead key and ever so slightly out of tune. it was oddly comforting and melancholic playing that piano in the house for the last time, one of which was wet hands.
fortunately, the piano followed us home and it gets played a lot by my dad’s students at his work. i never realized how much, i guess attachment i had to that piano until we started cleaning stuff out. it was especially different since it’d been the first time at her house in probably 5 or 6 years, maybe more

I almost feel like the out of tune piano makes this sound better, and too, more sad and nostalgic,, like almost as if its to hear the old thing we know and love, we can hear its aging over the years, but it reminds how long its been with us, and it is still great!
How poetic! I agree 100%. It kind of has that “memory” vibe to it; it’s a little distorted and old, but all the better because of that! Hopefully my in-tune piano playing will still be able to achieve that effect in my upcoming videos :))

I really like out of tune pianos in general, They all have their own sound, it gives them their identity
All of the songs in Minecraft sound like fond and fading memories even without the ties to the game.

I miss old Minecraft
that piano desperately needs tuning, but it somehow makes it sound better--
honestly the fact that one song from a game about fictional blocks in a fictional world can bring the best stuff out of the worst people is astonishing. there’s so much nostalgia to be pumped out of one piece of music that i get overwhelmed when i hear it.

im gonna put a cassete together of all the most nostalgic versions of all the minecraft songs, and this might go on there.
I’m about to be 20. I remember when I played this when it was just a demo on the phone. Just a trial on console. Then the full release on all platforms. I remember all the late nights. The all nighters. Playing and building the most random, and often inappropriate, structures. I don’t necessarily like what Minecraft has become but I always play it for the memories. Here’s to more Minecraft memories and may the game and the memories live on forever.
This may sound weird bc of how young I am but, I am about to be 13, I started playing Minecraft when I was six, played it a lot less when I was 8 and by 9 was not playing at all. I played it often with my friend who, might I add, I hardly ever see now.This just brings me back to playing with my friends with a can of coke in my hand and a ps4 controller in the other with the old graphics.I will be honest, I was crying a bit.nearly half a decade since I last played.About 5.5 years since I last played with my friends.Even if I did, it just isn’t the same anymore, the music is not as good, the textures are too good and the selection of blocks has been overcomplicated.😭
Now that Minecraft has new music added, I barely hear the ost in game anymore:( which was the most important memory to me. Glad to have this great cover to come listen to 😊

This really gives me memories when I was a kid first getting my xbox 360 and waking up at 5 am on a cold winter day to play on a Minecraft tutorial level.

The nostalgia’s setting upon me as I remember when I used to get on Minecraft, tell some friends to come over, and just have not a care in the world. I was 6 at that time.

Every couple months I come back to this and i remember hopping on to split screen with my older brother on the Xbox 360 and making a house together giving each other are roles it was always after school we would have a couple hours to play trying to get as much game time as we could before we had to come off and wait for the next time we could play and wondering what would happen next cus Minecraft is
