Hi Aeva, I am a filler and have more than 50m troops. In addition I have limited amount of orbs and enough to max out only 1 out of the 5 P5 familiars. Which would you recommend? I am seriously thinking of the Hell Drider as it can be used most widely instead of the specific troop type familiar. Or should I hold on the the orbs and see what , Titan , Reaper and Trojan comes along.
I was gonna ask about the same thing for the same reason. I'm F2p, so getting the yellow orbs is a pain. I already have the gryphon maxed, so I'm contemplating about the next to invest in. At his moment I have just enough orbs to awaken the Hellish Curse, need a little more for one P2P familiar talent. But, I have more than 30m troops, and it keeps growing. As far as I understood Aeva doesn't really recommend this talent when you have this amount...but for defense purposes... I'm also interested, but in general, considering rather the attack, should I go with Hell drider or Gargantua talent? (Gargantua is the closest to be upgraded to Elder)
I have 50 million troops, and I had Bon Appeti, Gargantua, and Blackwing up on my wall along with ones that reduced the HP of the incoming army. I got rallied this past KvK (by Prince’s alt guild), but was disappointed to see the three had not proc… at 50 million troops, 4% is a lot of troops that need to die or get wounded. I think if you’re awake and can counter, familiars that require a certain percentage, like Blackwing or Helldrider, may not be so useful. But perhaps if you’re always getting hit by Emperor accounts and you don’t have a whole lot of troops, then they may be worth it. As you basically said, there are many variables involved in choosing the best familiar to put on your wall.
Squads also break up by tier, most rally is t4-t5 so it would be 8 squads at least that are large, hence why baby solo traps in my days we made were mix of t3/t2/t1 with because of speed -so that all troops hit at once on Inf phalanx for example … T3 slow inf, t2 faster cav, range shoots right away so all troops hit almost right away….. also losing 1.5-2 mil troops if end result on one rally - no point … for multiple rallies yes… because it only starts working after 7% troops are lost. 1.8+ might castles likely to get hit with a wave of at least 3-4 rallies, so it’s worth for a wave, not for one single rally if you losing under 2mil. Very good explanation for basic understanding, but as you said many fams/gear stats are situation based, not just Best in Slot items. Nice video, understanding what fams to use for defense for my setup and why, is a good way to learn and understand overall game entry level mechanics.

I've been wondering, is there a difference between petrified and stunned? Why use two different words? Can petrified troops be killed/wounded?
petrified troops cant be killed, they are just like stones there, stunned can be killed
