Big fan of the linen, gives the bright ambience without the harshness the sun can give sometimes!
Thanks! Yeah it’s a nice filtered light without blocking it too much. When they blow in the breeze it makes my brain real happy.
The linen goes with the monitor stands giving you a natural and organic look to base the rest of the room.

I love the way you show close-ups of paint cans, and you almost never show the whole office. That helps a lot.
OMFG BLESS YOU, CHILD!! 🙌😂 So... My husband installed these HIDEOUS single-panel OPAQUE WHITE blackout curtains in our bedroom because ... Morning sun. And somehow light still manages to seep in around the edges. So he put up these (equally hideous) black blackout shades underneath OVER pre-existing blinds. 😩 I LOATH the whole "ensemble" SO MUCH. I made him watch the curtain segment because 🤯 . Normally he needs to process/think about the pros/cons about this stuff but he was 💯 💯 💯 on-board! We flipped those curtain edges of the so they face INWARD. (because Murphy's law, both curtains were initially hung with the edges facing outward) and we're looking into getting another set of curtains to double-up. Here's hoping this does the trick and we can at least get rid of the layered look 🤞🤞🤞 Thank you muchly, my Scandi-goth Queen!! 🖤

Curtains flowing in the breeze is the best vibe in existence.
The good and bad news about the roller wheels for the chairs: they lose their little ball bearings after about 8 months and put yucky metal shavings and grease everywhere, so they need to be changed on the regular, although they work amazing on any type of flooring. But pro tip to pull them out of the chair, just give a spray of W40 (spray lube?) where the hems go in the chair wheel holes and they pop right out! Been using that type of chair wheels for years and the first time around I thought I was going to dislocate something pulling them out so I had to get creative.

Becki, I'm so thankful there are other people in the world like me! ha! I can't help it, my husband laughs because every time he comes home, the house is moved around once again. BUT it makes me feel happy and he supports that. He doesn't quite say "whatever you want to do" like Chris (which I love), but I'm still thankful he doesn't gripe. ;) Honestly, it gives me "new house" vibes and being a stay at home momma, I need that. :)

This is peak house video. Monochrome painting, minor construction, desk assemblage, storage (with lighting - ooooh!), and general goof. The new layout looks so much more usable, but just wait another 6 months and see if Becki wants to change it around again!
Several additional notes: for eyestrain with behind-monitor lighting, there are light accessories you can get which copy the content colours on the display and also really add to immersion on large TVs. The roller blade wheels on the chair are genius and I need to use that hack. And the rug is fantastic.
Sitting in my fully white office one minute into this video already getting the urge to paint everything dark! 🙈

I love that I have seen so many of these room build videos on your channel that in my mind you guys just live in a 127 room mansion and every room is just a beautifully minimalist and aesthetic filming space. That's my Becki and Chris headcanon at least.

More often than not, it takes several iterations to get something completely right. This new makeover is adding depth and contrast to the office with those gray walls nicely connecting with the existing black ceiling. That feeling when you use something that you already had for a while and it fits in so perfectly. And that desk stand...😱
Currently also restyling my little house I just moved in to and also building a little studio space and your videos are giving me loads and loads of inspiration and ideas on how to do some things myself! Love, love, love this! And now I got some new ideas for my own room, e. g. the curtains, they're so beautiful. Wanted to do a full makeover almost a year ago, but it just never happened. I'm too scared to start... But now things are kinda moving and I'm starting to declutter, so changes might be on the way! And I just realized how much of a difference proper lighting makes, that's something I need to adapt, too!
