I sit upon my wooden chair, old and creaky, while the faint glow of crystal resides on a dusty, cracked table, long past it's prime. It whispers quietly, strange and fantastical things, so I must sit, and discover what it speaks. I must ponder my orb.
today unknowingly, almost a whole year past, I decided to play this again! A huge hug to everyone around listening to this, this whole track is so hauntingly beautiful ...
Wow. This is like one of those DS albums that manages to transcend the genre and in the process bring the whole style up with it. It reminds me a lot of Almofar, but somehow even better.
'SIlver Halls in Dark Lands' has been on repeat for a couple of days now. I was reading LOTR when I discovered this album, and this particular track really suited the book so well. It truly is a perfect soundtrack to Lothlorien, as I pictured it in my mind. Hats off!
this was the first album i stumbled upon from this channel. talk about chasing the dragon, i haven't heard another album of this genre that's better than this one. Its genuinely good front to back.
its still pound for pound the best dungeon synth album. i love this genre and have explored many albums. this one just captures the essence of the movement.
A house on the outskirts of town whispers, and as you approach it, others descend on the path to its door. As they move forward, strangers become eerily united as the music gives them the key to peace and they begin to flock together to this house that was once just a rumor. Now they live on the outskirts of town never to return 👑
My DM played this album today, after a big battle. Golden Reaching Roots was playing. The party found out that we had accidentally killed the baron of the city we were in, and that the archmage of a hostile country, which was already planning a takeover of the city, had seen us before she left. Which means, we were in deep, deep shit. This music fit in so well with the despair the party was feeling at the time. And it fit in so well with the resolve and the hope when we came up with a plan. Combined with the best, most emotionally charged roleplaying that we had had in the entire campaign --- It was nothing short of beautiful.
I know this is quite a statement, but its the best album I've ever heard. I listened from beginning to end and only afterward looked at the song titles and found that they fit the songs perfectly. When "In Solitude to the End of Time" plays, it somehow captures the idea of an eternity alone. This is what you call inspired music.
It sounds like the music that would play not when you enter the chamber of the final boss, but the cave of the wisest man in the land. Intimidating, overpowering, but not menacing. You've survived an epic journey where most of your party was slaughtered. Now it's just you and him, and you may ask him any question you wish, and he will answer it truthfully. Make it good.
Leí toda "La Queste du Graal" con esta fantástica música de fondo, que, como una potente droga, me transportó a lugares etéreos e inefables. De alguna manera, gracias a ella, encontré la mismísima corona caída de Lucifer.
There are two other Dungeon Synth albums by Vindkaldr, Ambient I is the same kind of vibe as this album (but better imo) and Miscreantic Mysteries which is darker, but still very good
This is King David playing his lyre. I recognised it so I could find the original by searching, it's from the 14th century Psalter (book of psalms) of Duke Jean de Berry. This art style in general is high medieval. Look up Fra Angelico, Giotto, Masaccio. "Late Gothic" and "International Gothic" styles. This is from an illuminated manuscript, i.e. from a hand-written book which included illustrations / decorations on high quality parchment (vellum).
"The room is empty at first glance. The dust and spider web fill the corners of those old stone-brick walls. You see a wood door in the north of the room. What do you do?"
While going through albums of dungeon synth artists, this one sounded very familiar. I looked into it and he's the one who made some of the best music tracks in The Longing.
I played this just before going to sleep, and I kept falling into these mini dreams and I got awake couple of times just to fall asleep again....but the best part is that in every dream, the music was still playing in the background as some sort of a soundtrack, and when I finally woke up I felt like I was dreaming for a whole day, or even ages, and realised that the music is still going...I checked the phone and saw that the final track of the album had just begun.... Truly great experience...
After listening to several dozens of them I have to agree. Something, maybe the constant reverb gives both a calming and eerie sensation at the same time
Choose thy path wisely for all thy deeds of good and evil are remembered and can return to hinder thee! Visit the Seer Hawkwind often and use his wisdom to help thee prove thy Virtue. When thou art ready, Hawkwind will advise thee to seek the Elevation unto partial Avatarhood in a virtue... Seek ye to become a partial Avatar in all eight virtues, for only then shalt thou be ready to seek the codex!
This is the most professional dungeon synth I have heard to date. Not that others aren't near it's level - they are - but this is the apex it seems. It sounds like it should be the soundtrack to some epic and popular fantasy.
