Personally, I've played Werewolf with a group that had no qualms about meta, and the meta BS was frustrating as hell. Mostly because people who THINK they're playing meta are just playing badly and calling it meta (eg. "he was the bad guy last game and won, we should kill him so he can't do that again!").

Toast is Canadian so he's not going to be invested heavily in US entertainment unless it's big enough to be recognized

People between the ages of 30 and 100 grew up seeing them on TV all the time in most English speaking countries, as well as a few other languages (I know French was one, but I don't know what others). Until the last couple decades, Bugs Bunny was as well recognized globally as Mickey Mouse.
There are newer iterations of Looney Tunes (which also air in Canada), but they don't have the popularity the franchise used to have.

Dark room is the place where the photos in 90s where made the room was meant to be dark so the clarity of the image on the page will increase .
