- The good people of KLOS Guitars have branched out into the world of ukuleles - and me and Jake Shimabukuro recently had the chance to try a couple out!
We took these carbon fiber ukes for a spin and they are awesome... and not only do they sound great, they're virtually indestructible too!

Could you pleaseee do a tutorial on the fingerpicking for the spanish lady (the traditional Irish song) because there are no tutorials on TH-cam except for a guy who doesn’t speak English. I would really like to learn it because there is a guy called tom who comes into my parents bar almost every single day, and he always asked me to play it for him. It is toms 80th birthday soon and I would absolutely love to be able to play it for him.

I really need this, I dunno how many times I've kicked my uke off its stand next to my desk, and that design looks really gorgeous :) Now I'm gonna look up the price, cry for a bit, and go to bed :P

This uke seems to have a brighter, less warm tone that I am used to hearing in a tenor. I notice this more in your recording, but hear it slightly in Jake's recording too. Does it sound that way in person? Also, I would love to hear a side by side comparison of the KLOS Indestructible vs. the Outdoor Uke tenor if you ever have the opportunity. (I realize that the Outdoor is not as tough, but it is also a lot less expensive.)

I put a set of Fremont Blacklines on and it just rings and sings.
It's crazy how resonant it is being so sturdy, sounds better than most of my wood ukes.
There is a saying in the States regarding advertising, "The louder they are, the stupider they think you are." (See car dealerships, wrestling, and monster truck rallies). When you start your video by yelling at the viewer and then doing it again repeatedly, enthusiasm is not what you are conveying. You might have a great message, but without an appropriate delivery, it will rarely be heard. Unless you are implying that some ukulele players are stupid...
The fret board is still wood though. How indestructible is that, I like to keep my ukulele clean from greasy fingerprints, how cleanable would it be?

Very nice idea, unfortunately the price tag of $730 (amazon) is a bit too high for me, I haven't spent that much even on my e-piano and I'd probably rather get a nice guitar from that amount! ^^ But for those who can afford it, probably a really nice instrument. Even though for that price I'd have liked an in-built pickup for recording and amplifying.

Wow this uku reminds me of the one my brother had that got creamed by a bus. It had broken down so they had to take everything out of it and somehow missed his ukulele when they were repacking everything 😢

1:20 reminded me of when I got my first uke. The wood was so soft when it came out of the box I accidentally made a scratch with my thumb nail on the face of the uke. It hadn’t been out of the box for ten minutes.
Yeah i just got a £100 uke for Christmas and i took it out to ukulele band and it almost got damaged so im never taking it out again.

I don't understand. Is the fretboard wood? Are the electronics waterproof? Is this just for knocking around the house. I'd be wary of sand at the beach in the plug in. And the price is a bit extreme. How does it compare to the $200 Outdoor ukulele made with carbon fiber? Love the concept, wish Kloss the best and all the success. Hopefully when they have sold a couple of million of these, the price will be manageable for those of us who live on the road and actually hardcore travel. As it stands, I'm not sure it's wise to be on the streets with a diamond like this while living in the rough. So everyone please buy one so I may one day too.

Hermon David - The electronics are an optional upgrade. If you're looking for a beach friendly uke, save some money and get the one without a pickup.
However, since it is next to impossible to drill a hole in carbon fibre without ruining it, I doubt you can add an aftermarket pickup later if you change your mind.

Hermon David - I'm not sure. It looks like wood, but it could be a waterproof composite. I think they have all the specs on their crowd funding page.
