      Think about it.
Think about the things you guys do on a farm. Continuously. Sometimes for very long periods. Repeatedly. Every. Single. Day.
Take this one drill for example, how many different parts of the body and muscle groupings are you working? Many.
Now extrapolate that and apply it the rest of your duties as a farm hand.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand the difference between this, and weight lifting.
In order to accomplish the same stresses and workload in the gym you'd have to be using multiple different machines at the same time to get the same effect.

We started a homestead on just 4 acres only 5 months ago. Going to the gym doesn’t hold a candle to the strength built tending land. It’s all mental. The motivation and fulfillment from the gym is far less deep and significant to the mind than the motivation behind caring for your crops and animals. On the farm or homestead, super strength comes from places you didn’t know were there, and you don’t even notice you are “working out”. Because you are working for the survival of yourself, your family, your crops, and your animals. Endless motivation with endless fulfillment. You are proud and accomplish something beyond just yourself. That’s REAL fulfillment.

Construction and farm work build your stabilizer muscles and teaches you to apply your strength in unfavorable positions for leverage, whereas weight lifting and and other forms of strength training are all about maximizing leverages. This is also why gymnasts are pound for pound so strong overall - because their sport purposely focus on performing exercises with THE worst leverages possible ala Iron Cross etc.
