Love your channel! I think the honk is literal and now someone has just over-thought it and reverse engineered it to suit themselves but things change as in this story (yes it's all about me). In 1967 we went on vacation driving our Volkswagen bus from Dayton,OH to Long Beach,CA to see my brother.Unfortunately we broke down and had to spend a couple of nights in Santa Fe,NM. At the Volkswagen dealership there was a paperback with Volkswagen stuff and it had a game where you scored a point if first to sight another Volkswagen and yell "Volkswagen Ho". You then beeped and waved at the other car.Mom,Dad,my sister & I did that all the way to CA and then again back to Ohio and everyone was very friendly and waved back.Back then Volkswagens were still a bit of a novelty and everyone seemed to be in on it.Of course now it would be likely road rage over beeping,waving and yelling "Volkswagen Ho".
Well I have really bad anxiety and yes I've seen those bumper stickers and thought people did it for attention. I personally thought it was not very intelligent. I have had bumper stickers for my favorite nfl team and literally people wanted to fight over my liking of that particular team. I just mentioned the anxiety thing to let you know lots of us have something like that. I'm not ashamed of it. My medicine works really well. Just don't over think things that aren't worth even thinking about. You're very Blessed with your talents 🙏. So enjoy. GOD BLESS.
Yes, that's literally what it meant. At one time, kids would reach up and pretend to pull a cord, like a steam engine horn, when the car was passing trucks. The driver would often honk the horn for the kids. This where the "honk your horn if..." came from. It's illegal to honk a car (or truck) horn unless it's a traffic warning, so it's no longer a literal "honk". This practice went away with the CB radio, when the kids could talk to the trucker, "Breaker, breaker, one-nine...". OK, I'm old. Sue me. 🧓😁
I used to take it literally. I guess now I took it semi literally. I have wondered if I might be ADD. I wonder a lot like is ADD real or is it really something else they haven't figured out. I don't like to honk either unless to avoid an accident and even then, I don't like to but I will.
