There's nothing like seeing The Who live in their prime days! I can't imagine how hard it must be touring night after night. It's a tough life when you have thousands of fans who adore you and than go to a lonely hotel room....and have to do it again the next night. Everytime I have seen them, they were amazing and I lost my voice and would take me 2 days to recover just from dancing and singing along! My favorite band of all time!
I was lucky to see the original line up at an outdoor show at Charlton Football Stadium in 1974/5 ? it was Alex Harvey Band, The Outlaws & ??. I also witnessed the ‘new ‘ Who ‘ with Kenny Jones in the drum stool at Rainbow Theatre but don’t think there was any support band
Glad they had a change of heart. Saw them in 1976 when they broke the DB record for loudest show up to that point and 40 years later in 2016 when they were a different, but still great live act. Amazing Band Overall.
@Golf4u Backnine It truly was! I saw them on their Philadelphia stop on this tour and till this day it’s my all time favorite concert! - The WHO 🎸 - By the way the JFK Stadium show in Philly had 100,000 plus in attendance.”
Thanks for sharing this, and for leaving the Schlitz ads in it! It was also nice to catch on video how much Roger and Pete actually care for each other. Would it have killed them to mention Kenney or Rabbit?
IT is a strange paradox having arguably one of the greatest live acts in rock history that is lead by someone who litteraly always hated touring. That is tough to pull out.
Was at this concert in Toronto with my girlfriend. My older sister was there with her boyfriend. Great show, but this turned out to be only the first of several "final tours".😊
The MTV host looks like Tom Baker of Doctor Who fame I could just imagine those 3 kids on bikes in the background 15:04 being angry Daleks ready to exterminate him.
I remember the 1983 release of the Farewell tour live album Who's Last recorded in Montreal Canada in December 1982 . I was greatly disappointed by the half assed, poor sound quality. Sounded like a pair of cheap microphones placed hundreds of feet away recorded on a cheap cassette player. I would say it was the worst sounding concert album from a major band. a far cry from their iconic Live At Leeds. I believe Who's Last went out of print a just few years after its release.
They were crap without Moony , Pete was on smack too , pale imitation , they should’ve split after quadrophenia then there would be no footage of them as old men
40 yrs later.. they are still here!
I've seen them many times since then but I was also there in 1982.
May 2024 As Roger is about to Retire. I might see him here in CT.

It is extremely isolating
Pete looks really sick in this...
@@sirandrelefaedelinoge. Hard drugs will do that. I think he had just gotten cleaned up from heroin before that tour.

I loved it. A great video of the final tour. What a band. Long live The Who.
Brilliant what great video of the who 🎤🎤🎤🎸🎸🎸🥁🎹.
Daltrey - just always comes across as a hell of a good guy doesn’t he? Just a great dude. Straight shooter.
I saw the final tour at the LA coliseum in 1982! The Clash opened for them. Great show!
I remember this was aired on a cable station called ON TV in the 80s ….It was awesome back in the day !!!
That was a magic time to be 14 and a Who fan. Awesome memories!⚡️
goose bumps watching this

Funny to see this 40 years later.
It’s amazing, See Me Feel Me still gives me chills.
Arguably the best tour they ever did ❤️🎸

Not even their best with Kenney imo, so a long way from the Keith years, but that shows the quality of the band I suppose!
I prefer the 2000 setlist, still with John but Zak.
Arguably the worst tour they ever did!😵💫
1969 was their peak. Live versions of their greatest album Tommy were simply magical, spine tingling.
Thank you
Mark Goodman - painful. Give me Martha Quinn all day every day 😅
Agreed that guy was such a tosser.
But....but ..his "hair helmet"! Doesn't that count for anything?
Wow! This is so cool!
21:41 - Pete Townshend - New Wave's style
Thanks for uploading buddy. I enjoyed that :-)

Oh. HECK Yea!
Saw them in Dallas on this tour,Billy Squier was the opener.
Saw the Who in 1979 best concert ever
The irony of the beer sponsorship while talking about Pete’s alcoholism!
So sad that this was their last tour and we never saw this great band live again.
Hahaha
I think I was at the meadowlands concert that they talked about.

Farewell Tour v.1 (more to follow) 🤣
l was there
I was at the Toronto show . Im still pissed that they lied about retiring from touring. I don’t care how great they may or may not be. Lying buggers.
$16 a ticket. Imagine. They're 20 times that now
✌️🤠💥🌟🌀👍
How’d the “Farewell” tour work out for them?
So great, they had 3 more of them! Each one "the last ever!"
" disoluted with life on the road " ? thats all they wanted to do THEY WERE DISOLUTED WITH MAKING RECORDS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
😂

These 2 are bummers. Bye. I don't miss them.

Absolute bollocks, they've made plenty of good music since Quadrophenia.
