It's true that it's unavoidable, especially in trees that have been lion tailed. But when a customer asks you to do a heading cut on a weak compartmentalizer such as a birch tree I think you should strongly warn them against doing it and try to find different solutions. They might be scared of a branch breaking, so maybe bracing could be an option in those cases.

agun17 Ash, Birch, Beech all react to stubs. They do require more care. Covered in my second vid ;).

Bit of the subject here! Tho have to ask should BT& other phone companies be responsible when we have to climb and cut back from phone lines?

Yes i agree up to a point but be careful about always giving into what a customer wants. Yes you get the job amd yes you make money but over the long run your professional reputation suffers. Don't be afraid to walk away from jobs which are simply not worth it, mainly in my experience because of difficult clients.

TheToolnut Protecting your reputation also means doing things for your customers. Every situation will be different and people will provide different options :).

Stubbing is cutting into Branch collar?

Find the only growth point which is the smallest. Step cut, target cut, then either accidentally cut the growth point off or knock it off later only to be left with a stub anyway! 😂 that’s the normal procedure 😆

MrStreetboy Yes can’t stand busting growth points with another branches. Also cross rubbing or decayed branches result in stubs sometimes.
