    This is a promo (gift) review of the latest Trucks N' Stuff - Pneumatic Truck & Trailer review. I'm not one for lengthy pedantic reviews. I like to cut to the chase. Do I think this is a nice HO (1/87) Scale Truck & Trailer model worthy of a purchase?

    the minute I saw this model and the selling price, I knew it was a super value. I have no doubt of the possibilities you can do with it. I ordered a small fleet of them. Cheers Rob

    Sorry for this off-topic comment, but I just finished my first attempt to use your painting and weathering methods on a small project. Specifically, I purchased a kit of 40 HO scale Walthers SceneMaster sand-type bags for my 1962-era layout. After a coat of gray primer and a base coat of light tan I added several thin wash layers using Vallejo Model Air paint colors of increasing darkness, ending with burnt umber. I am so very happy with the results. The bags have texture and subtle variations in shading that make them look quite real (at least to me). They have now been put on pallets and are sitting on a layout loading dock. I can't wait now to try this on something larger. Thank you so much for your great tutorials on this channel. Cheers from Wisconsin!

      That sounds awesome. I know the feeling. The more you play around (don't be afraid to use lots of water), the more you will amaze yourself. I would have to say, outside of airbrush paint (Tamiya), Vallejo Colors are my favorite. They seem to love thin layers built up with water. It's an exciting learning curve because the results seem endless and limited only by fear to try. Cheers.

    Trucks 'n Stuff started as a quiet "also ran" but in the last years they have really done some delightful stuff! They don't seem to be daunted by these hard-to-model items. You are right, the detail for the price makes them a great buy. In my area (eastern Nebraska, USA) I haven't seen these in grain service, but they are all over the place carrying dry bulk like cement, flour, etc. This is an essential model for the modern scene.

    Really cool looking truck Boomer!
    Seeing the real version, really inspires to tone down the red of the trailer. Haven’t seen a picture of this particular livery, but other liveries show the construction of the tank brace and the piping in much more toned down color schemes, or just dirty metal. Can imagine though that the construction of this model requires a one or two part injection mold to make it sturdy enough.

    Got a few and they are awesome. Was hoping for the larger trailer with the funnel tank on the back. Several things I hope Trucks n Stuff would consider is making Peterbilt and Kenworth flat top sleepers both the 63" and 48" bunk. Also maybe a show truck series with the long frames and colors. 53 foot flatbed and step deck trailers are a must. Those can be done if you kit bash two Herpa 48' stepdecks.

    I was the tireguy for Laidlaw(Woodstock)in the late 80's. This is when the fleet went from the Blue wRed/White stripes to Dunford colours. That chrome tank Boomer has to go the same colour as the tractor(Dunford Silver). Around the lids will be white dust. From lyme or cement. Also needs streaks from being washed with muriatic acid.Everything else us right🚂🇨🇦🙋

    Looks nice. I think Brekina is the benchmark for these types of models (albeit a lot of European stuff) but this looks like it could be as good. Brekina does a very nice Peterbilt 359 but doesn't do the pneumatic trailer. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do to this model (because we all know you won't be able to leave it as is 😉 ) 👍

    Funny -- I noticed this in the background of a previous video and instantly thought that it needed some weathering to knock the shine down just a touch. As a minimum it needs a wash on the wheels and on the front grill. But the detail is impressive and very much in-scale -- there are some old clunky truck models still floating around out there.

    • @boomerdiorama
      @boomerdiorama  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Try brushing on Tamiya X-21 "Flat Base." Then after it turns all "chalky" wipe it all off with a dry stiff brush. You can also get a can of "Flat Coat" and spray it down as well. Try the underside of the tank first.

    • @tgxleasing5769
      @tgxleasing5769 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you. I haven’t tried your flat base method yet, but I’ll first do it on older equipment to get some practice before trying it on these trailers.

    Would love to see a video on how to weather the truck properly. I have for my feed mill and was just thinking how it could use some weathering.

    • @randytaylor1258
      @randytaylor1258 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's a puzzle because a real truck and trailer that looks this nice would be well maintained. So if you wanted to seriously weather UT, the first thing to is disassemble it and dechrome some of the parts. After that the sky's the limit but some washes and some dust would be a good start to make it fit in.

    • @boomerdiorama
      @boomerdiorama  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@randytaylor1258 Good point on the assessment. If it's owner operator, the truck could be nice with a heavy weather on the trailer maybe.

    • @LakeheadChris
      @LakeheadChris 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely needs some toning down. Plus, my Cargill model came with chipped paint in some areas. Will fix that first, before adding some very subtle weathering. I have been looking at pictures of these trailers for last half hour. You could really go all with these models.

      Unless you're planning on working parts, the choice would be full length landing gear when hitched or short gear that would look dumb unhitched in the yard. What would be nice is a package of accessories that you could attach if you wanted, including short landing gear, a day-cab, rear fenders and mud-flaps, etc.
