Great video, illustrates the whole process from beginning to end. As one that has come from a migrant family i can appreciate all the work and effort that goes into planting and harvesting this wonderful crop. Its not only used for making beer but also has medicinal purposes, and is used in a lot of medications. Thanks for sharing this video.
such a badass video. i want to invest in like 10 acres and start a hop farm. hard work , but what a life. i think i'll be moving to oregon to become a hop farmer. even though i'm sure starting a hop farm takes a couple years before you can get a decent harvest.
So this is all in the valley? I have not seen this being grown in central oregon..... MMMM idea? Would it not grow here in central oregon?? The government is paying people not to grow barley or wheat over here, nothing has been said about this...... though I only own 20 acres. Thank you for the video, educational!
$2.00 an ounce for most varieties, 16 ounces in a pound, one of those square bails is worth (approximately) $6,400. I am sure their labor isn't expensive. Big money.

What a great video. I'm from the midwest and i thought about growing hops for use in my beer. this really got me seriously thinking about it
Man all that hard work. I think that it's well worth it.
Great video, thanks!
It must smell awesome there!
Great video! Which variety of hops was this?
Is there a rope or something that runes along the vine? If there isn't, I am surprised the machine that separates the hops doesn't break that vine.
Dig it, Well done .
Nice ❤️
Is this the same facility I saw Mike Rowe do an episode of Dirty Jobs at ?
I understand. i wanna dive into one of those piles of centennials.

the true vine !
but you guys have the hallertau, the biggest hop yard in the world, Germany still has the largest hop production.
This hops production video is very interesting. Kind of spooky for some reason. Could certainly use narration instead of the titling.
17% of a budweiser comes from willamette valley hopps
In my mind. Oregon smells like hops, marion berries and a touch of ocean air... all the time. *sigh*
$2 per ounce in the homebrew shop, bro. That is not the wholesale price.
Lleno de Mexas
Hops grow on bines... not vines
What will we do when the cheap oil is gone...
Mhm here in Bavaria the harvesting and drying is much more compact and faster, so is the harvesting!
