I agree, a sheepshead is hard to beat for eating, and they pull hard too. If they only ate artificial with consistency they would be a very popular fish. I have done blind taste tests on my family with sheepshead vs. pompano, trout, redfish. Sheepshead always comes out on top.
Hey Blair I've been watching your shows on TH-cam I used to live in Titusville for 10 years I used to fish underneath garden Street bridge and Titusville for sheephead yeah you got to keep a like a tight line when it comes to fishing for sheepshead I just wants a bite man you got to set that hook because if you don't you going to lose him and when I was in St Petersburg years back I used to use oysters for bait for sheepshead they used to to suck it right off the hook once they do that you got to set that hook but one thing I love eating them you take care buddy I'm all the way up here in Branson Missouri now I've been up here for 8 years haven't been to Florida since 2008 can you talk about cold it's cold up here in Branson

trout, redfish, flounder, snook and jacks can be caught with my 7'2" fishing rod but if you are targeting bull reds or larger snook, you are playing with fire. I would move up the 7'6".

I've caught red fish and floundered 25 miles offshore from tybee. Especially the bull reds.
