I am not a bonsai master. But it looked like "70yrs"of work by another master was undone. It would have been the same. If the" Bonsai master??!! ". Had just taken a chainsaw to what was. A very beautiful bonsai tree. Ending up with a quick cutting of most. Of the branches and foliage. No time and thought that I could see. I hope he puts some anti fungus and disease and on the cuts he made. It is a old tree that the stress of the savage cutting can. Make such a tree die!. I have seen several bonsai masters at work on trees around. That age they are slow in were they cut. And much thought and care is put into each cut. Sometimes "5hrs"plus.will go into reforming or reshaping the tree. The bonsai has a spirit like all living things. And that is one of the main ethos of zenith. A zenith master gave me a rock that had Moss. And was very rough. He asked me to look into the rock and roll the more I looked. The more I meditated the on it I. No longer saw a rock with Moss and earth on it. I started to see landscapes in it and feel. The spirit of it the size of a man's fist. In nature we. May see at the side of a dirt Road. Rocks earth weeds but if you relax and study a area of it you can see forests and other different types of landscapes e every thing in nature has beauty and spirit even a fly. The different shades of blue green and other colours the beauty of its eyes the veins on its wings and many other things we are too busy to notice. What I saw in the video was a harsh pollard the of a beautiful 70yr old bonsai tree. Maybe he has lost the meaning of the art?. But it looked like pollarded trees you see in cities. I hope it will recover from such hard and harsh treatment the spirit of the bonsai is affected by such "butchery!". Now this bonsai master has a shop has the presiut. Of profit made him like this?. As the saying goes "the root of all evil is money the pursuit of more and more. Makes a person's spirit cold and they no longer see the beautiful things around us be it from earth air fire or water. It is such a sad thing to have watched how the old tree was treated as I may be wrong to there may be method in the way he treated as the old bonsai tree my master said "treat a old bonsai tree like you would. To a very old person. Respect be gentle take care due to the frailty of very old people" I always give my bonsai a friend of two or three different mosses a few stones that will be friends with each other a nice foundation earthen ware pot for the roots to the be happy in. I don't leave one bonsai tree on its own. The only one In the room I have other plants and ferns flowers or a pair of my finches that sing so wonderfully. I think a bonsai would be lonely. In a room on its own. I talk to all my bonsai and plants respect good food and a variety of it talking to them treating with care and gentleness and love when pruning and your bonsai trees will give you what they have there beauty and wonderful shapes and different shades of colour. To sit and relax and look at them will calm you I am 50yeears old I have followed the zen way since I made a lifetime friend and teacher a truly unique and wise zen master who passed from this life to another 2years ago. Aged98 years old he gave me so many gifts his wisdom his Japanese folk stories that he loved to tell me. And he had countless of them. I miss just sitting in with him in his garden with some green tea and his delicious sesame and walnut cookie's he taught me so much from cooking and the zen way to be calm within if ever someone tried to rob me by showing me his own way of self defence that didn't need for you to be strong and just twisting the hand and holding it would cause much pain and other things that were simple but very affective and he taught me to respect all living things and taught me to love Zen way of gardening services and our love of bonsai and living my life the,Zen way a person can be a billionaire but many rich are unhappy with the life they have. I am lucky I am not rich. But my life is a full and a very happy one "to first find Friendship love and peaceful people you must first learn to find these within yourself. Sorry for the long post. If I offended anyone I am truly sorry I just speak the truth about what I see to everyone I wish you happiness good health love in your lives and peace and contentment and may your life be full rich with laughter and much happiness like I said I you can be a billionaire but happiness peace and love and contentment in your life you. Can't buy no matter how much money you have. Sorry for spelling mistakes and take a are and cherish each moment you have with loved ones family and friends and as tomorrow is not promised to any of us. From Marcus.

    I like your sensei,
He knows what he wants to see.
    He likes his bonsai.
He doesn’t worry about others telling him he is wrong, he cuts off anything he does not like.
He does not hesitate to create something new, and is not afraid to let the bonsai be better even after he is gone.
Your Boss is a very Wise, old man.
Take his advice, You will be better for it
Thank you for your video, I liked it very much the casual Japanese speaking helps me learn the language more easily.
I appreciate your effort, and I hope you can read this easily. :)

Very good looking Shohin bonsai. I love it. The branches were too long and quite tall for Shohin style hence the bonsai master has cut back all the branches .

sure did accidentally jab (hit) the plant alot while going in for a cut. i thought it was so soft that it was worth that much more stress from cutting the same branch back an back an back. He seemed rushed an lacking precision im no pro but this just seemed very odd and different from all the masters i've seen. im sad that a plant vid made me salty so plz correct me or just take down the vid maybe?

    • @bonsaifromjapan5117

Sure. Our boss is different from the other master. He cut freely. I enjoy. Thank you for watching.
