I treat the books as a way to directly introduce concepts into the game universe without creating a whole new game with hidden lore. I honestly think that no event in the trilogy or Frights should be taken as canon, but that the ideas introduced can be used to explain why certain things happen in the game canon (Agony, Remant, how objects become possessed, etc). Meanwhile, it seams that The Tales From The Pizzaplex might actually take place in the same timeline and universe as Security Breach, which is pretty exciting!
And then the graphic novels are entirely separate from the written novels due to how much had to be cut for reasons, and so now we have a dozen different versions of him with different motives, attitudes, and philosophies! Help...

The original Freddy Fazbear's Pizza is more than 30 years old, FNAF SB takes place in 2021 of March, this is confirmed in Vanessa's email stating she was born on March 1997 making her 23 years old

Purple Guy was framed. It was Golden Freddy all along! And when Purple Guy returned to destroy the monsters, he got springtrapped :( And after 30 years of sitting in that dark room, he was driven mad and became the monster after all.
I think his motives for the killings at least at first where jealously towards Henry maybe he saw Henry as perfect maybe he even saw his family as perfect and may be Afton felt as though his family wasn’t. I think also Afton could have suffered some sort of abuse at a young age which is why he could be cruel to Michael because Michael is the first born but he looks at the other two like his angels even though I don’t think he truly cares about them as it’s implied. I think he also likes to be in control he wants to make things perfect because he feels as though he’s in adequate which is why in the books I believe is why he considers himself an animatronic why he was so attached to spring Bonnie because it felt perfect to him it felt like the real him. which could mean he might have an identity disorder. And I do think his later killings were more in line with the whole child experimentation to try to bring his kid back,but I think it was just a sick excuse to torture and kill more kids
Be honest I don't really like the how springtrap is portrayed in the twisted ones becomes more like a psychopathic murderer furry enjoying and even loving being one with his creation and I'm pretty sure an actual line in the book
