We spent many years homesteading off grid 😊whilst raising our children. Watching your children growing brings back so many memories of my own children. I wish you all the best.😊
The bestest family portrait is all of you eating watermelon, slopping all over the place, and with a baby on your back, Tara and John. Take that as your Christmas card photo! This is what families should be like! Thank you for your heartwarming share!
I love how you always let chickens out in the morning for a day's adventures. 😊🐓🐣🐔 They already have penty of space in their coop to enjoy but are given whole farm to roam. They are all very lucky chickens ❤
I was getting really nervous watching Crusoe take the cover off the hand saw which John didn’t seem to notice. 😮 Happily the next shot showed the saw on the roof out of Crusoes reach! He’s such a clever little boy so quick to learn. Soon he’ll be doing the carpentry! Love you guys. 😂
Have to agree with all the great comments above HOWEVER there were several moments I couldn’t watch and they all involved Crusoe. Work tools are just that, not toys but to have a child within reaching grabbing distance while cutting a watermelon is not a great look. Children are so quick and unpredictable - prevent the what ifs 😊
Good evening from Australia. It's good to see John finally finishing the chicken house with Crusoe helping out where possible. I always like to watch week to week what you are harvesting from your garden. Sawyer is definitely following in his big brother's footsteps with his love of watermelon. Can't get over how fast Crusoe and Sawyer are growing. Cheers until next time.
Your first attempt at growing your food is nothing short of marvellous. Even if you didn’t give top marks to the water melon, I think it’s safe to say the boys did 😋🍉Take care xx
Seeing your boys grow into such amazing inspiring human beings gives me so much hope for our future and next generations 🙌 You all are an inspiration and incredible examples of a healthy, loving, uplifting, kind, supportive, humble family. Every time I see your videos I learn so many valuable lessons and have the most fun doing it! Love your channel and will always be here to support you guys, you really deserve it💓
Love that day break intro, the boys joining their dad to let out the chickens, the rooster call and the rising sun :) and the coop looks fantastic, great to see you work with timber John, reminds me of my grandpa who was a carpenter, he'd make it up as he went along and it always turned out amazing. Have a lovely week ahead Newbys, thanks again for a lovely video 🐓
Congratulations on hitting 150K Subscribers. It feels like last week you were passing 100K. You are so correct as how fast time goes by. You need to slow down occasionally and take in what you both have accomplished. Sawyer is growing so fast, and Crusoe is now a little independent man. Both are a credit to you. Well done on the harvest and best wishes for your future endeavours. Following from Sydney Australia.
Tara, remember when you started your garden? And now look how amazing it became! Exactly what you were hoping to achieve! You did it and it will keep improving as the years go by! Self high five, girl!
Crusoe getting so excited over watermelon is so cute and Sawyer just guzzling his piece of melon and then with a satisfied look was just as adorable as Crusoe. Loved the hen house it was repaired beautifully. Well done John.
Crusoe being so helpful with the chicken coop 😄😄. Are there any winter crops that you are planning on planting? Always enjoy watching your videos, it’s a joy to see how Crusoe is always willing to help. I’m sure Sawyer will be just as helpful, especially since his brother will be teaching him as well. ❤❤❤ Seems like John is feeling better!
Oh what a joy. Watermelons, butternut squash, Tomatoes. The children having so much fun and freedom. Glad to see John’s arm has improved. Just picked my first pumpkin 🎃 Much love
I boiled all my extra tomatoes, peeled the skins off, easy after boiling. I put them in the freezer and in the winter I made tomato-basil soup with milk, butter, salt and pepper to taste. It was so yummy..
Crusoe is going to be a gardener and a carpenter - he has good teachers. Never seen a person get so excited over watermelon as Crusoe got and the baby he loves it too. Looking forward to the next video.
Hello Newby family. The harvest from your garden was amazing, especially those huge tomatoes. Crusoe’s knowledge about the garden patch is excellent. To see Sawyer devour that watermelon was hilarious. John has done well to finish the chicken coup… looks great. You must be really fit Tara to be carrying Sawyer around on your back & pick the produce. Loved the video, thanks…. Cheers Noeline 🇦🇺 🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️👏
Helllo Noeline, the tomatoes have been amazing! We are so happy about them. Love being able to do these kinds of 'chores' with my boys. Thanks so much for watching friend 🐓💧🍅🍉🙏🏼🇵🇹🏡
Adoro ver a vossa vida diária, entre as crianças, os projetos e os vizinhos. Tranquiliza-me muito perceber que ainda existem pessoas que simplesmente querem viver felizes.❤
This was such a heartwarming episode. I admire John's patience with Crusoe. Him being a perfect 2yr old, sitting/standing/walking exactly where you had to work😊 Tara, your and Joel's veggie garden🍅🌶🫑🥒🥔🥕🧅🫘🫛 was magnificent...such a blessing. Your watermelon moment was priceless 🍉 Enjoy the last few days of 🌞 before the 💦 comes
We are so happy to hear that Anneke, we love being able to share it with you. I must say I am very proud of our veggie garden, I definitely wouldn't have been able to do it without Joao's help! He is amazing. Thanks so much for watching friend 🐓💧🍅🍉🙏🏼🇵🇹🏡
Love seeing the little ones enjoying the fruits of the labor from the garden! Finishing "little things" gives one a great sense of accomplishment - and it looks wonderful! Can't wait till your next video.
As a suggestion, a good site to watch for gardening is Hollis and Nancy Homestead. They have a large homestead in Florida, USA and he had to start with sandy soil that he successfully treated and has grown an abundance of crops. John has the carpentry skills that will allow for new ways of gardening on your Homestead that could be learned from Hollis and Nancy's Homestead site. You guys have done a remarkable job with your Homestead and I hope you continue to grow! I enjoy all your videos.
Hi Newbys Whenever I buy a watermelon from the shop, I leave it whole in the fridge for about a week which helps ripen it up so it's sweeter! Maybe try that before cutting it. Love how Crusoe is speaking so well and his and Sawyer's enthusiasm 👏
John you've done a wonderful job on the chicken coop. It's wonderful to see Crusoe helping out with every thing your both doing on the farm. Tara your butternut squash's are really amazing, plus your Mellon looks amazing and really sounds delicious. Have a good few days and good weekend to you all Take care & hugs and love to you all. xxxx 💖💙💙💙
🌻🌻🌻Happy Sunday Newby Family! So happy to see how well the the gardens are doing and seeing how happy Crusoe and Sawyer when they bit into your personal watermelons! We had a bounty of our own with a few tomato plants and cucumbers - fresh picked is the best! Sending you 💕from our family in Michigan!
Love the coop with Crusoe’s help. He does all the different parts of the farm. What an incredible experience. Soon Sawyer will soon be toddling Behind his brother I’m sure. What a difference the new drive way has made in looks. Makes the excitement of what is ahead. Blessings on this part of your new adventure. Love to see what’s going on every week. 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
So many satisfying jobs to be done. Is Sawyer's birthday coming up soon? Has Crusoe started nursery school? Like John said, it's amazing what a difference a few weeks make when the seasons are changing.
I am so happy for you that the chicken coop is done and that your weather is starting to cool. Here in North Texas, we are hoping for the cooler temps this week and praying for RAIN! Love to your beautiful family!
I laughed at how Crusoe was sitting on n the chicken coop lid as John was trying to repair it. That is just how cats always want to be where you are working.
It’s funny how our attitude changes when we find joy and love in it, instead of it just being a chore or a task. Chickens find a way into our families and hearts and having fresh eggs can’t be beat. Love watching your family ❤
AHH ..... JUST HOW PRECIOUS ARE CRUSOE AND SAWYER PLAYING TOGETHER WITH THEIR TOYS ? ? ? THEY JUST HAVE TO BE AMONGST SOME OF EARTH'S MOST PRECIOUS DARLING 💕 LITTLE ANGELS ! ! ! SENDING LOTS OF LOVE YOUR WAY NOW 💕💕💕💕
Dear Tara you have two busy kiddies and they are blessed to have you both around doing stuff with them… weeds can wait, nothing that a strimmer won’t fix!
As an ex-head teacher there is no better way for them to learn! I am impressed with the amount of freedom they get from both of you. I never had that myself, and missed out on a lot of things! My wife has been setting up a garden as well and we are reaping the benefits of her work. I am handicapped and cannot help, but enjoy reading about yours and seeing the fruits of my wife’s labours. Greetings from Poland!
Good Morning from Calgary Alberta Canada....Its 5:00 am Sunday. So great to see your sweet boys. Crusoe is always so willing to help. Seems like just yesterday you were planting the garden and now harvest is almost done. Have a great week. ❤ from Canada 🇨🇦
I cut the tomatoes into large pieces, roast at 350 for 1 1/2 hours. Then they are ready to put through a mill for tomato sauce put in the freezer for later.
I adore your channel ❤️ it really is so entertaining and inspiring 💕 thank you for everything that you all share! Really wanted to just say that then I see sweet Cruscoe drop his much loved watermelon and wanted to say, when you are told to not think of a pink elephant, then that is exactly what we do see, in our mind. When a child is told, be careful not to drop it, that is also what they see, themselves dropping it. I used to say keep it tight in your arms or in mummy's basket, then he will see his watermelon to safety 🍉 much love ❤️ xx
Tara you have every right to be proud of your accomplishments with the garden. Remember next summer you will have older children and it will get easier to stay on top of the garden jobs. I’m proud of you all. Blessings from Canada 🇨🇦
This year my fig tree started producing figs for the 1st time. I am so excited waiting for them to ripen & harvest! I decided to see if I could do anything with the multitude of leaves at the base of my tree. Turns out they have exceptional medicinal benefits & make a wonderful tea! I started making fig leaf sun tea & have fallen in love with its naturally sweet, light smokey taste. Just thought I'd share this info with you thinking you & Crusoe may enjoy making this delightful brew since you grow figs too!
That's really good to see your recovery. And the roof of the chicken coop looks really cool now. So much achieved in a year and plenty of things learned for the next harvest. Congrats, guys! Have a great week!
Hello Newbys, I guess that the watermelons should have been on the plant for a few more days to ripen and gain sugar. Anyway, on the screen they looked beautiful! I wish you all peaceful lii summer days! Bye ❤
I just love watching Crusoe going barefooted, but I worry a little in building and crafting areas where ther could be the unseen screw and nail lying around on the ground. Btw, I hope your shoulder is better, John.
If you are going to store pumpkins, always leave the stem on. If you remove the stem, the pumpkin will start to decompose. If it has its umbilical cord attached, it'll last many months.
Good afternoon from Turkiye! We look forward to this every week as we love what you do and the boys are just adorable and to see them grow up is an absolute pleasure!
He is a brave lad, that’s for sure. Our job as parents is to nurture that but also create a few boundaries to keep him safe. Doing our best! Thanks June!! Great to hear from you, thanks for watching friend. ❤️🙏
Thank you for showing your hair John ❤. You look great. My son had long hair for the longest time. Now I'm feeling a bit guilty. I convinced him to get his hair cut. He looked so handsome. I'm not trying to say anything at all to you. Love your hair❤. Tara, I made dried tomatoes with basil and other spices and they are DELICIOUS!!! I love that your children are growing up and are so Wholesome living. You two are great parents❤❤❤
Enjoying all videos of your adventures on the farm crusoe is such a joy to watch into everything.having been in hospital for six weeks I still managed to keep up with the videos on my iPad.😊

I am glad I have no direct neighbours, as I laughed quite loud watching Crusoe's excitement about the cut open water melon, so endlessly precious! Crusoe is good for the immune system! Thank you for sharing all of those beautiful moments of harvesting and accomplishments, cheers from sunny and quite warm Ireland (I just had some of my home grown tomatoes and a bit of kale in my pasta lunch, so so so nice and privileged tobe able to eat home grown food, my water melons are still in bloom, I planted them way too late, but they look beautiful, I had just planted so random seeds from a most delicious fruit)!
We had a good chuckle at your comment Glen 😂 so happy to hear you enjoyed today's episode and all of Crusoe's excitement! Yum yum, well done on your harvest, sounds amazing 🐓💧🍅🍉🙏🏼🇵🇹🏡
You could never have too much tomatoes : just sliced with bit of salt and paper, expecially those huge ones you just picked from a garden 😋 , sprinkle of olive oil and Balsamic vinegar , eat with bread , bruschetta , eggs , as side salad with main meal, roasted with buratta on crunchy bread . Not to mention jams , chilly jams , chutneys and endless sauces and passatas . Gift that kipps on giving .😅 Love ❤🍅 tomatoes ,😋 .
We spent many years homesteading off grid 😊whilst raising our children. Watching your children growing brings back so many memories of my own children. I wish you all the best.😊

Hello Sandra, I am so happy to have the coop done friend! Finally haha thanks so much for watching. We will see you again on Wednesday 🐓💧🍅🍉🙏🏼🇵🇹🏡
Your first attempt at growing your food is nothing short of marvellous. Even if you didn’t give top marks to the water melon, I think it’s safe to say the boys did 😋🍉Take care xx
Crusoe always makes me smile such a happy little boy and Sawyer and the watermelon he really got stuck into it ❤
It was a pleasure as always! Maybe you should secure the flap over the eggs. A predator can easily pry it open and get to the chickens.
Thanks friend! That job was done! Great to hear from you, thanks for watching 🙏
Seeing your boys grow into such amazing inspiring human beings gives me so much hope for our future and next generations 🙌 You all are an inspiration and incredible examples of a healthy, loving, uplifting, kind, supportive, humble family. Thank you so much Isabella. This was such a beautiful comment to read 🐓💧🍅🍉🙏🏼🇵🇹🏡
As an avid gardener I think you guys have done a top notch job with the garden. Would love to see more of John’s flowers!
Crusoe brings such a huge smile to my face. Loved seeing him play basketball with the tomatoes.
We are so happy to hear that Sally, thankfully the tomatoes survived the basketball game haha 🐓💧🍅🍉🙏🏼🇵🇹🏡

Love seeing the little ones enjoying the fruits of the labor from the garden! Finishing "little things" gives one a great sense of accomplishment - and it looks wonderful! Can't wait till your next video.
Thank you for my weekly visit with some really nice people. Some balance for all the nastiness in our world.
I used to work for a company that initiated reverse osmosis technology. It is the only home filter that REALLY cleans the water.
Amazing friend, we absolutely LOVE it! So nice knowing we have clean water to drink and to give to our boys 🐓💧🍅🍉🙏🏼🇵🇹🏡

Always so happy to see how your son Crusoe helps you and John so much, can’t wait to see sawyer helping out too 😍 great job 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
So many satisfying jobs to be done. Is Sawyer's birthday coming up soon? Has Crusoe started nursery school? Like John said, it's amazing what a difference a few weeks make when the seasons are changing.
Hi Joan, Sawyers birthday is on the 23rd of September. So it is around the corner. Thanks so much for watching and for all the support 🐓💧🍅🍉🙏🏼🇵🇹🏡
When Crusoe threw the lovely big tomato down like a ball after saying thank you like such a little gentleman I burst out laughing! What a great kid! 😂
I am so happy for you that the chicken coop is done and that your weather is starting to cool. Here in North Texas, we are hoping for the cooler temps this week and praying for RAIN! Love to your beautiful family!

Crusoe's excitement tickles me so much! Great episode, sweet family!
Haha...Crusoe throwing the large tomato around like a ball! Lol❤
Watermelon needs to have marks on outside and usually one pale yellow spot to be sweet then pick 😊
Good Morning from Calgary Alberta Canada....Its 5:00 am Sunday. So great to see your sweet boys. Crusoe is always so willing to help.
Seems like just yesterday you were planting the garden and now harvest is almost done. Have a great week.

What a lovely healthy way to grow … bare feet and fresh fruit ! God bless you guys. Crusoe is a delight …
Boys have their own time... good job John !
I just love watching Crusoe going barefooted, but I worry a little in building and crafting areas where ther could be the unseen screw and nail lying around on the ground.

Thank you Judy 🐓💧🍅🍉🙏🏼🇵🇹🏡

Gift that kipps on giving .😅
Love ❤🍅 tomatoes ,😋 .
Yum yum, we agree with you on that one friend! Thanks so much for watching and for all your support 🐓💧🍅🍉🙏🏼🇵🇹🏡
