When I visited this temple... it was at night time... the surrounding was surreal.. and the lights were beautiful. And I was there during the end of winter.. so I saw monkeys huddling each other to keep warm.. It was a magical view. Thank you for showing me this place during daytime
@@sunkissedbucketlist the temple name is Swayambhu or Swayambhunath temple not a monkey temple some of tourist called it monkey temple because there are lots of monkeys
The surface of the white dome temple glistened in the sunlight and the stunning view was truly beautiful. And the crazy coexistence of the two of you with monkeys and humans was as brilliant as it was that day.
you can go to the place named "pilot baba" which is nearby the bhaktapur city and do the sky cycling. It is so much fun to do such adventures. you can also visit pilot baba temple and can see the beautiful view of the valley as well.
Namaste and hello guys, Indeed Swoyambhu is one of the ancient and important Buddhist pilgrimage. Swoyam means self and Bhu means sprung, so it is self - sprung holy land. Legend says, Buddhist saint from China named Wenshu (Manjursri) from mount wutaisan was to discover this pilgrimage site before the Kathmandu was constructed as the valley. He was the founder and the constructor of Kathmandu valley. later Stupa was reconstructed by the Mandeva who was Buddhist Lichivi king around 500 CE like you mentioned, It has a long and rich history and also my hometown where I was born and grew up seeing this temple everyday from my childhood. PS, Make no mistake, It is not Swoyambhunath, it is just Swoyambhu and there is no Nath and that's how we used to called it since my childhood that I know. People always trying to convert everything from one thing to another and one pilgrimage into another. Please do visit another Buddhist pilgrimage in Kathmandu called Baudha. Not Baudhanath but just Baudha. You will have serene moment for sure. It is also ancient Buddhist stupa.
While you are in Nepal you should buy Rudraksee garland, it controls our body's frequency. In other word it keeps you calm and compose. You find in Pashupati temple.
Wow, you guys visited Durbarmarg after Swayambhu visit. I can see my friend's restaurant (one of my fav hangout places in Kathmandu) Veravino (16:41-16:46), next to Hard Rock Cafe in Sherpa Mall. I wish you guys could have visited that restaurant, I would love to ask my friend to give you guys free pizza and wine as much as you can eat and drink 😀😛 (I will pay my friend later). That will be my gratitude to you guys because you guys are doing an awesome job, promoting Nepali tourism in the international platform.
Yes, Durbar Marg was a real contrast to the majority of the city but it's a cool spot. Oh thats amazing and so kind of you to offer, we REALLY appreciate that 🥰 when we're back in Nepal, for sure we'd love to visit your friends restaurant 😊
“The monkey temple” or Swoyambhunath temple is actually Hindu/Buddhist temple. Kings way got it’s name because it has “Kings palace” at the end. It’s now converted to a museum. If you are still in Kathmandu, you can try Chandragiri Hills. Go up hiking or take cable car all the way up - on day like this, you can see Mt Everest from the top .. including some mountain range … Nagarkot is another place near Bhaktapur - where you can stay overnight and see sunrise on Mt Everest
