Welcome to episode three of Exhale: The Journey! Today we hear Grace Wangari's story from The D&G Family as she narrates her experience raising her son Riley who was born with Gastroschisis.

it is good to stop complaining that your child is running around some of us have babbies who cant even raise their head because of negligence from our hospitals,be grateful for healthy babies and give them love.
I have learnt not to take anything for granted after hearing baby Neillah’s and now Riley’s story. I thank God for healthy babies

I learnt to never take things for granted after my sister's case. My God she went through hell to be where they're with her child now...let's us always thank God for healthy babies! Glad to see Riley is well.
Aki God is a miracle worker akii that baby stayed in an incubator which was not working for five days akii the cold the germs and he survived. Waa God is good

May Almighty God heal your baby. I've been through a terrible experience too, had labour for 4 days while in a private hospital, later had an emergency cs coz the baby was tired and was referred to Kijabe Hosp, my baby went through surgeries ,she had to fight for her life in the ICU .it was really traumatizing to watch her painful journey. She couldn't fight anymore and I watched her take her last breath on 3/1/2020 ie 3 days after birth. Any mom out there, thank God for your baby and pray for some of us who have gone through nasty experiences for healing.
God is a miracle working God don't give up.

And could we start holding our health practitioners accountable? Being 8 cm dilated for that long is poor progression of labour. Her amniotic fluid was already meconium stained. All the ways that this bad situation could have been made worse ...

Strong woman there, i can totally relate was admitted in kenyatta for 3good months ...i had no option ..i lost my baby due to their negligence and misdiagnosis...glad her baby Riley is okay God is good.

First a miscarriage then your baby having a rough time with his health during his first days.When you were the only one not scared or feeling like your son had a problem, that was your intuition telling you that eveything was going to be perfect. Five days in an incubator that's not working then being told that your son has a 2% survival rate when you move to another hospital. Being told you can't go back to Kenyatta hospital 😭. I do not know how you felt during this whole time but I'm sure it was super painful. I'm so happy with God for saving Riley. And God bless Baba Riley because I seldom see or hear men being so present and supportive.

We should never take anything for granted,this family is blessed.. the first time we met it was in kilifi , I was called by my friends to come n take photos at the beach with some of thier visitors only to found out it was this great family ,ata I had kutoroka job ili tu nisipitwe since i ddnt want to fail my friends that is kina Marion and we had alot of fun.....though hiyo time Riley alikua bado kwa tumbo n the Mum alikua anaogopa kupiga picha kwa maji hehehe...you're such a nice couple .God bless you
