Hey Dan, so many people everywhere fail their business. the fact that you have moved on since then, and that you are here posting vlogs just shows that you are extremely a resilient person. Give yourself a big pat on your shoulder, bro. I turn on your video while working, like a podcast. In fact, I definitely feel you should make a podcast of your Greek Life journey. Thank you for sharing with us your story. Cheers.
You story resonates with me, I I'm from iceland, lived for 9 years in Berlin, now tomorrow, I'm moving over to Athens, Greece with my greek wife and 1 year old baby girl. At 35 years old as you did 14 years ago. I see myself in 14 years walking with greying beard making youtube videos giving the same advices :)
I like the fact that in Greek culture elderly people and children and respected and part of the festivities and daily life, everyone is important in Greek culture.
Some thoughts about language. I'm Serbian and I live in Germany. I speak Serbian fluently and since I was born in Germany and live here all my life I speak German perfectly. No one ever says wow you speak German very well although you're not German. Cause they can't tell I'm not. But I know people who came to Germany some years ago and they are learning German constantly and getting better every day. But still they have foreign accent. What I'm trying to say I'm always impressed when I meet people and I can hear that German is not their native language but still they are using some not every day words so I can see they are putting effort in learning a language. So I think it can also be seen as an advantage if you speak Greek almost perfectly but a Greek person still hear your accent. They see you're a foreigner but have learned it so well. At least I would really respect that. I don't know. Maybe only a person who has been learning a foreign language can understand what I mean. At the moment I'm learning Greek and I'm really looking forward one day to speak with Greek people when I visit Greece. Thanks for your videos. I like them a lot.
What you speak of is simply life, as it happens from choices we make. We can’t be everywhere for everyone but we must be in the present for ourselves. As the human in us, we go off the happiness path with thoughts and regrets and resentments of the past. Let go of the past…it is forever gone. No regrets. I find that connecting with loved ones via apps online, I.e. face time, helps tremendously. Be well…you’re doing great 😊
Came across your channel while researching for my first trip to Greece which I just returned home from. Interesting to here your perspectives on and experiences living in Greece as a non native. I'm watching the video from 🇨🇦
Good morning Daniel .Omg how much i understand you .When i was ten years old my parents got divorced and i saw my father after thirty years .What a hard feeling !!!! Do not be so hard to yourself all of us have difficulties in our lives.

Kalimera Daniel, I was born in France from Italians parents, I learnt english at school and I understand also some spanish but as you, I want to settle in Greece, so I will commit myself to learn Greek language and work online also I began BTC mining & trading and I'll will produce youtube content. My aim is to settle in Creta, I appreciate your channel, experience and point of view about your way of life as a new Greek integrated citizen.
I want to ask you something about the language. Before coming to Greece (or actually meeting your wife), did you know how many everyday words in Latin (English and Spanish) are Greek? Did this surprise you?
If all foreign people living in Greece felt like you Daniel, then Greece would be indeed a fortunate country indeed, don't be too hard on yourself my friend.
Elefsina was probably a commuter town to Athens full of stress hectic etc. While Nafpilio is far enough away. Accommodation cheaper environment more relaxed and good accesd to beaches without too many tourists. So a good community spirit. Have relatives there but a bit too much Drama for my lifestyle. Enjoy wish I had prepared or knew where trip wires were. Efcharisto para kalo ! Mil Gracias !
I have really enjoyed your content Daniel, thanks for sharing your life in Greece with us. Having had a number of Greek friends over the years, especially from high school, I was exposed to a number of aspects of Greek culture and even language. My Greek friends would sometimes take me to venues called tavernas, where they served food and alcohol. Much of the time these places would also have a Greek band, with bouzoukis, etc. What would the difference be between a Kafeneio and a taverna in Greece. Also, is a Kafeneio very similar to a cafe in French culture? Yiamas.
Do you have a video where you talk about the cost of living and perhaps what it’s like living among Greeks? I looked through your videos but not seeing a title that sounds right. My husband is Greek and I’ve often wondered what it would be like living in Greece.

Harry from NY (downstate, not NYC) here. Daniel, how much does it cost on average to purchase a 2-bdrm house with water view in Nafplio?
@@vtecharrys.6981 for a brand new apartment it would probably be around 250000-300000 euros.

Well said and indeed the quality of life in Greece is away from the big cities. You did the right thing.
Almost 11k. Things are really picking up!
