@@nwparker94 Earlier as in when? Remember he joined the band when he was just 18. He turned 21 the year Blood Sugar Sex Magik came out. John has never cared about the fame and attention. It was why he left the band the first time. He hated how big they got, didn't want to play bigger venues. He also was young then, very ignorant about many things. Simply didn't care about anything but himself and drugs but he has never acted like a big rock star or wanted to live a lavish rock star life. John also has said he hated how he acted back then. It was hard to look at the person he was. This is a guy who walked away twice from one of the biggest bands in the world do record his own music which was a far from the mainstream as you could get.
@@Peppers19781978 wish i could insert a quote but I can’t remember where I read it or heard him say it. Lol maybe I’m making it up but I feel like he specifically got into rock n roll because he wanted wanted the lifestyle. He wanted the girls and especially the Coke (thanks to Bowie).
I saw a photo from a fan that got to meet him at checkout in Miami Whole Foods super market. The guy said John was surprised he recognized him and had a nice little chat offered advice and took a photo. Seems pretty chill to me.
Those people shoving shit in his face aren’t fans. They’re vultures trying to make money off a normal dudes signature. That’s so painful to watch.. you can tell which interactions he enjoyed and which ones made him uncomfortable. He’s just a normal dude that just happens to be a great musician, treat him with the same respect you treat any random Joe you see walking down the street.
Poor John… this is everything he hates about rock stardom. Leave the guy alone. I understand he’s loved by many but man he looks uncomfortable with all that attention.
We should tape headphones to his face and blast "One Hot Minute" on repeat while feeding him psilocybin mushrooms until his enormous ego finally breaks!!
I wouldn't ask John for a autograph. I'd just want to pick his mind and learn and enjoy the time. That there makes for a better life memory then some autograph that may actually get you disliked by him. Just enjoy the moment take it all in. Don't need hound for a autograph missing valuable memory.
I often wonder if John could do it all over again knowing the outcome would be this level of fame, would he still join the band? I really see him as a true artist who could care less about the notoriety. I honestly don’t think I could approach him if I ever saw him, and he’s probably my favorite guitar player of all time.

Sometimes yes, but not always. He’s patient and tolerant of what a person in the public eye needs to do.
TOTALLY agree. If you have this one moment with someone like John why waste it with something stupid, superficial, and even annoying. Instead, tell him how much you love his music, what an impact it has had on you, and ask them how THEYRE DOING. Make it a human contact instead of asking for a stupid autograph...
JF is a prima donna, a lot of his guitar riffs and solos are nothing more than Jimi Hendrix copy . He quits and then comes back to the RHCP after not wanting to deal with fame and he won't ever play any songs from the Dave Navarro and Josh Klinghoffer era, so he's not all that humble as people make him out to be.
He got back in the band because his ex wife took tons of money with the help of the courts in your country... He's in debt, and he had to return to the through - knowing fans would orgasm immediately and feed his monster ego too...
While I see a lot of guitar players from that era as Hendrix influenced, Froosh, Mike McCready etc, his tones are what do it for me. Something about that chorus pedal and his playing is the most appealing combination aside from maybe Gilmour and his delays/echoes. I wholeheartedly agree with your statements about him not playing the full catalogue. I hope that pride breaks down and we see them all on stage, Klinghoffer, Frusciante and Navarro.
Rick Rubin and John Frusciante ruined the RHCP, and it dates back to the schmaltzy Under the Bridge song, which they both encouraged. It was never the same, after that embarrassing ballad.
An Introverted Rockstar, he's in it for the passion, not the lifestyle. What a wonderful soul!
