  • n this video I am putting together one of cinema's most iconic blasters (with a difference) The Blade runner Blaster, aka the PKD blaster aka Deckard's blaster. However this one is a little different. designed and printed by Colin Catchpole of 'Bigbangcollectables' Colin Has not only created this beauty but he has a MASSIVE back catalogue of amazing sci-fi models. From space ships to droids, spinners to blasters, you name it and he's done it!!
Sadly this Blade runner.Blaster kit is no longer available from 'Bigbangcollectables'! however Colin does have a LOT of other amazing kits and downloads available on his Etsy store Linked below including models and variations on original designs from star wars, avatar, Blade runner and many more . If you've enjoyed this video and want to see more, please check out my other videos and while you're here, a click on the subscribe button would be much appreciated :-)
In this short video, I show the processes I use to build and paint this gorgeous blaster kit.

Cracking video mate! Can't believe you've not got more subs!? Well explained throughout! I'm currently printing my own full size PKD cannot wait to put it all together! Thanks for the video!

Aww thanks mate :-) I really enjoy doing these vids, comments like yours make it all worth while :-) as for the subs, I guess as I haven’t done any vids for over a year (lots of personal issues going on) the ‘algorithm’ that everyone talks about isn’t pushing my channel. I’m hoping to crack on with more in the new year. Good luck with your PKD build ;-)

Thanks Peter. Great video and explanations.
I liked the tip on mixing Alclad paints. I have used them before, but as much as I mix other paints, I never thought of doing that, as Alclad are so particular.
    I will try soon :)
Too bad the kit or model is not available, it would have been a good side arm to my Anders.

@@PeterTindallsCreativemaking - and… I’m sorry… really great job on the video itself. The voiceover is exactly right, explaining it all so nicely and keeping one connected to the action/process. That metallic paint truly was impressive… I’ll have to search it out, just to have around!

@@CHROME-COLOSSUS Ah thanks so much, I'm new to making videos for youtube so it takes me a long time. I just hope things look and sound right for everyone :-) i don't know why you're sorry though haha

@@PeterTindallsCreativemaking because it was late and I was tired and my comment was so brief, not mentioning that I appreciated the video as a presentation, versus simply digging the prop itself. 🙂

Excellent Build video !! This was excellent in so many ways , I wish there were more videos on Blade Runner Snub Blaster builds ! This is an excellent kit !! Could you mention what size screws you ended up using on this ? I assume you used metric screws for this ? Oh, and where did you get the Steyr logo from ?

Hi Richard, thanks so much for you kind words. I’ll list the screws tonight when I get home :-)

If he doesn't do the Kit anymore he could upload the .STL Files to thingiverse or other sites, that would be great. The Snub one that is on thingiverse seems to be a different one. The hardest part with the 3D Printed Blasters is to find the right screws. I searched my ass of for screws on my Anderson PKD.

That’s not a bad idea but you would need to speak to him personally to ask him :-)

I’m the same with regards to the screws for the Anders PKD. There are some folk on the Facebook blade runner blaster builders group that will sell you the complete kit of hardware for that blaster.
