There are wonderful museums in Perugia including the national gallery and a great archeological museum. There is also a very unusual church in the round from the 5th and 6th century. Umbria is known for its delicious food which is outstanding in a country that is known for its flavorful food.

The food was good, but I would say each Italy’s region is known for their specialities.

    Tuscan here.
Tuscany and Umbria (and Marche) could form a single Region.
But we don't do it as it would end up outclassing and overshadowing all the other Regions of Italy. 😅

Hehe😅 what would be the name of this region then? 😂 I would really like to visit Marche and Abruzzo regions. I guess they are the least touristy. But I am pretty sure very beautiful as well.

We could call it "Etruria", as the ancient Romans called it, being the land where the Etruscan people lived. In the Middle Ages it was then divided into Tuscany, governed by the Mèdici family, and Umbria under the control of the Pope (as well as the Marche region).
Marche or Abruzzo? They are two different regions.
The Marche for historic cities (Urbino, Macerata, Ascoli and others), culture (Urbino was one of the capitals of the Renaissance) and countryside (beautiful and almost more well-kept than Tuscany). I think that Marche is the most underrated region in Italy, together with Basilicata.
Abruzzo for nature (mountains and wild landscapes), but also historic cities such as L'Aquila which was almost totally destroyed by an earthquake in 2009 and are currently rebuilding.

How can you even compare? They’re completely different as all the 20 different regions are🙄

Well, this is the most obvious comparison. Moreover regions are neighbors and to me have much in common. But even if they are don’t why cannot I compare?! Same as I would compare Sicily and Sardinia or lake Garda and Lake Como. All are absolutely different, but sometimes you have to make a hard choice and choose just one for your vacation. 😉
