Also many people forget that Baker Mayfield had a perfect passer rating at Lambeau Field. He was the first visiting QB to do so at Lambeau Field.

Top 3 things we need to improve on from last season:
1. Pass coverage
2. Run Blocking
3. Pass Rush
1&3 goes hand in hand, if just one of those work right then it automatically solves the other.
@@josefwhite4035love that answer. Most don’t realize the pass rush is super important when it comes to cornerback/DB coverage. No pass rush, corners gonna look terrible. Solid pass rush leads to corners with much better stats and more turnovers. Def hand in hand. Pass rush is super important.

@@josefwhite4035 not all the time us and the Chargers are 2 of 10 teams who had 48+ sacks… The Chargers gave up 249.8 passing yards per game which was 3rd worst in the NFL and we gave up 248.9 passing yards per and that was 4th worst and pass rush don’t fix blown coverages

Tampa was a few bad plays from being in the NFC championship game. Let that sink in. A year we were predicted to be in the Caleb Williams running. They thought we were the Bears.

That would be like saying that they were a few plays away from not making the playoffs at all and both would be true. Not scoring a single TD against the worst team in football in a win or go home game. Without Winfield stealing that TD the Bucs very easily could have lost.
Bucs are always underrated. Bucs are always sneaky good with talent. That's thanks to Jason Licht and the front office and the talented football scouts bucs have. You know Jason Licht, the GM alot of so called "fans" wanted gone....😂 The Achilles heel of this team is still Todd Bowles. He's not a HC. But hopefully they can win despite Bowles.
I have to disagree! While Jason Licht and staff are definitely top 5, they don't coach players.
Todd Bowles and the staff that he has assembled, have coached this "always underrated team" 3 out of the last 4 years to a division title. So many teams would love to be able to say that! In fact, I remember very LONG stretches where I wish WE could have said that! So many younger fans don't know what it was like living though those long, atrocious seasons! We were the laughing stock of the league, and the butt Johnny Carson jokes along with so many comedians whe were constantly using The Bucs in their stand up routine. It got extremely old! For that reason, so many of us are gun shy about "messing with success." Also, I think this is the reason why the team itself avoids the "rebuilding" label. I'd much prefer to ride this team out and trust Bowles. Afterall, Licht and the players do!
I like the take on this. The mix of veterans and explosive young talent seems to be a winning formula that supports depth and talent. Good stuff.
Coming from a former Browns fan. You guys have a QB that will leave everything out on that field. He made Cleveland football relevant again but they saw a shiny new object that they thought they wanted and now have buyers remorse. I hope Baker absolutely balls out this year!!!
Hell yeah man, I wasn't too excited at first, due to only going off what media put out on baker but that quickly changed after the very first game he played. Baker is an absolute dog and i love it win or lose, got the absolute most respect for the guy similar to my favorite ever UFC fighter Forest Griffon. Was he the best talent and skill wise no, but he had that absolute fight in him no matter what.
@@nathanfox3090 Yeah, same. Wasn't too excited about Baker being the Bucs QB, but I figured they had nobody else so why not. But Baker plays the game like a running back who might get cut next week. Impossible not to like him, and he's got just enough talent to where the over-the-top effort can result in wins. Happy to have him now

WR Jalen McMillian Washington Huskies is going to be a stud WR3 and worth a mention.
They scored on some UDFA DBs Banks and Funderberk look like they will be contributing this year. Deloach LB and DT Judge Culpepper look good so far but with some positions its tough to gauge until the pads come on.

Bucs lost Ryan jensen Alex Cappa and Ali Marpet in one year . Thats two pro bowlers and one all pro . They are getting close to fixing that mess . I dont care what team you are if you lose 3 pro bowlers on your O-line your gonna suffer . Bucs are looking a Corey Linsley right now . Linsley is the best center in the NFL . If they sign him look out .

The Bucs been doubted even in the late 90s early 2000s when we were great. They'll always hate on the Bucs but it give us that extra boost half way through the season. We're very lucky to have owners and a GM who value and respect their players enough to make adjustments to make sure they get paid out. I dont see any other team doing this. LFG BUCS!!! Tampa Bay won 9 games without a Pass Rush last season. And 5 of their losses was directly because of no Pass rush. IF..they can find one this season, I got them taking off. People underestimate Mayfield. But seems like to me, he has gotten better.

I seldom hear anyone point out what IMO is an AMAZING thing. Everyone knows that "Play-action" is Mayfield's forte. Just think about how difficult it is to do that with THE WEAKEST RUNNING ATTACK IN THE NFL! If he has ANY running game this season, he will certainly be even more effective.
Bucs came out of 2023 like the Phoenix rising from the ashes. With Mayfield and improvements to the team, they have the potential to at least win their division. I'd like to see them and the Seahawks, two dark horses, clash in the NFC title game.
It seems that "nobody realizes" the potential of Mayfield. Most qbs would have been pulled or lost their confidence if they started out the season like he did last year. Good job by the Bucs front office and coaching staff in keeping their faith in him throughout a turbulent season. They lack a little at the CB, top end WR, and edge rushers, but they can make up for it in other ways.
Lets go Buccaneers, fire the cannons
If Tampa can at least get good rushing yards a game they will be a hard team to beat
A good litmus test in the early season will be game against the Detroit Lions.

I wish the Bucs well but I got to admit the schedule is hard this year. As long as we take care of our division they should make the postseason with a couple wins outside our division.
Honestly its not that bad. Chiefs, Niners and Ravens are the only real strong ones and we also played them last year with the exception of the Ravens
