    My mother was a young woman in Sydney when "The Yanks" began arriving in droves. They were there at PM John Curtin's request to protect Oz and send a message to Japan. Many Aussie girls dated American soldiers and my mom did, too. This inspired her to leave Australia. She was NOT going to join her husband in San Francisco. She was single and did not desire to be chained to a stove. Australians should not forget that Americans boys died in the Coral Sea to protect your families.

      Jacinda Ardern is not divisive and tends to pull New Zealanders together as a group and although I'm a British Muslim, I feel like being part of that big group rather than fighting half of New Zealand. She won so handily last week because her opposition amongst other things laid doubt on the way she handled - earthquakes, shamdemic and not to mention 2019 mass shooting in Christchurch. While there are shit heads who discredit her, lovely lady of New Zealand united them all together and got them ALL through it.
      As for Gillard, she had to contend with an opposition who go on about their bullshit. She had an often hostile press, and turmoil within her party. She had a much more toxic environment to operate in due to a bunch of zionist shit heads namely Tony Abbott. Rupert Murdoch and Alan Jones and far-right shit heads called Bolt. Her misogyny speech will always be memorable. Their constant campaign against her ultimately succeeded in getting rid of her. It turns out, she's very likeable.
      I wish Ardern, Trudeau, Merkel, Jeremy Corbyn, Caroline Lucas, Putin, Imran Khan, Maduro, Bernie Sanders and Gillard followed Xí Jìnpíng for his poverty alleviation, purge the government of corruption and ensure diversity.

  • @irishgodfatherchris
    @irishgodfatherchris 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    oh yes, the fact that she leads the government elected legitimately and in accordance with all laws and conventions on the subject doesn't dampen your assessment, all she needs to do to legally become PM is to have the 'confidence' of the lower house and to have the Letters Patent appointing her to said position

      Angeelo Gov -- Right. It's always sad when people jump to such ignorant generalizations like that. It's just like when some ignorant individuals see a russian person and think 'soviet/communist' when so many brave Russian people fought the bolsheviks and many many millions died passionately fighting against it and trying to bring their country to a different path.

    They recognise her as a great leader because it's true. She believes in Americans as she does Australians. Despite being ridiculed by all of you people who have no idea what she has done for this country she has empowered young women like me and inspired so many to be just as successful. You are all stingy people as you would rather hate on Julia than accept that a carbon tax is contributing to the future of the environment.

  • @irishgodfatherchris
    @irishgodfatherchris 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @s0undch4s3r actually she has two autocues on either side of her but I used to be in possession of a transcript of her speech and she did make a lot of it up as she went along as do most people when they give a speech, some people like myself don't do use any notes are prompts at all (its an acquired skill and you really have to be on the ball and know what you are talking about and not just rambling to your audience)

    When President Obama came to Australia to speak to the Aussie House of Representatives Parliament was silent like a funeral home. If I was Prime Minister any head of state who is an Aussie Allie who comes and speak at the Australian Parliament shall be given a applause when they enter the lower chamber

    • @RaymondHng
      @RaymondHng ปีที่แล้ว

      Australian Members of Parliament do not interrupt with applause. Prime Minister Julia Gillard's address and Opposition Leader Tony Abbott's address to President Obama were only met with concurring "here"s from the House chamber. MPs respectfully listened to Obama's entire speech and saved their applause after his speech was completed.

    • @mattchew02
      @mattchew02 10 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      She didn't fuck anything up. She just received so much negative attention because of the carbon tax and a good opposition. Unemployment levels were low, we were building things for the future and our international relations were amazing. Are you sure you're not referring to the current Abbott Government? Because they're fucking everything up.
      You're a German Canadian you don't know what you're talking about when it comes to Australian politics.

    I repeat, she was not ELECTED to power. The Australian people never wanted her to be prime minister. That's great that she found a sneaky little loophole to get herself into power, but I'm concerned about the way the voice of the Australian people has been crushed by her connivery. "There will be no carbon tax under the administration I lead." Remember when she said that?

    Are you crazy? The US fought the Germans from Fance and Italy through all of Western Europe. Eisenhower forced Patton to stop and let Russia enter Berlin before the US.
    In 1939 Russia was in league with Germany and they both attacked Poland. Russia went on to attack Finland, Lith.,Latvia, Estonia.They brutalized the pop of these countries.They suffered large losses due to their Napoleonic tactics of massive suicidal assaults.Most of their losses were civilian as Germany pushed almost to Moscow.

    G'day from aus, every now and then we have to tell our friends what they mean to us and how we do appreciate them.i think this is one of those occasions. just think of the world for a moment without the US. even though it abuses it's power,i think it abuses its power the least of any nation that's had that power to abuse. why did the german refugees run from east to west from the russians. and like julia said they did put man on the moon.so thankyou for your contribution to our world.

    (continued) see it as American aggression and when she met with Chinese leaders in Beijing, they made it very clear that they did not approve. Following the economic deals she brokered with the Chinese, they now have greater leverage against her than we do, and as such, Australia has warmed considerably to Beijing and the PLA military. She is still trying to balance the alliances, such as with this move watch?v=CoMqP9EkJ-0 , but if push comes to shove, the economy of Australia comes first.
