Anakin loved the girl until he wanted power. Ben Solo wanted power until he loved the girl. Anakin strangled his pregnant wife Padmé. And he let her collapse to the ground unconscious. Ben Solo only paralyzes Rey and then puts her to sleep with the Force, and he catches up her with his himself to carry her to his ship. Just that difference means many things. Reylo is the correction to the Anakin/Padmé tragedy. Even Ben is dead (or maybe lost in the World between Worlds), this love story with Rey is sublime because Ben Solo returns to the Light for Rey.
Anakin literally turned to the dark side for padme and it corrupted him into wanting power. When obi won showed up he thought padme didn’t love him and attacked completely out of his mind. Kylo ren couldn’t hurt Rey because she is much stronger than him. Anakin and padme are a couple who went about there relationship in a really wrong way but really loved each other. And anakin’s redemption was from his son which speaks even more.

Wow! this is so good. This kind of paralleling and showing the threads more concisely is what strengthens the whole series to me. I still feel sadder for Ben as we never see him have a happy moment in life whereas at least Anakin. Also, Ben is used by everyone and never acknowledged for just being a boy. Classic Greek tragedy.

God I wish they didn’t make Luke a total different character. He saw good in a man that destroyed planets, killed thousands upon thousands and brought him back to the light. But he tried to kill a boy with dark arid tendencies. A boy who needed guidance he just tried to kill him. That’s not Luke at least not the Luke we used to know.
Exactly, even Mark Hamill himself was disappointed how they handled his character, we deserved a better Luke, we got an Op Obi wan, an Op Yoda, people waited years upon years to see an OP Luke, and Disney trashes it.
When you grow up, you tend to be less hopeful about life. Sure, he almost gave up his life to redeem his father but he didn't want to repeat the same mistake with his nephew. He just wouldn't be able to handle this as a much older man.
I agree but to play devil's advocate, after seeing another powerful jedi falling to the dark side despite everything Luke had done, it would kind of make his previous efforts seem futile to an extent. I also agree with @Epi, while boy Luke was hopeful and optimistic, it's realistic that his older self would have grown less so.

I like this. Kylo is my fave character from the new trilogy. When he kills Han, gets me every time. Ben Solo's reconciliation with his father leads to his return to the light and redemption, both Han and Leia and Rey return him to the light.
I really wish they made Kylo the skywalker indtead of Rey. It wouldve done so much more and his arc wouldve been completed but instead of going to the dsrk, he'll go to the light. He had such a complicated story and the conenctions betwen anakin/ben are so similar. It wouldve been so amazing to see that happen.
I feel as thought they copied the originals too much, Kylo dies just like Vader which I don’t like, they should have made him and Rey join and create the new Jedi but with the teaching of both light and dark to create the grey Jedi creating a better balance

Anakin and Kylo didn't deserve to finish so bad, they just needed to be helped by someone that could understand their feelings, but both had their reasons to be bad, have never been really bad, they were always conflicted and in pain and nobody helped them and has been betrayed by their masters. The 1rst time I saw the original 3 movies of Star Wars I thought that Darth Vader was just bad as the same in the first movie which I saw him in, but when u know what's happened to them first become so u realize that it wasn't their fault if they become so; they deserve to come back in other movies, sequels, I mean, them and other principals characters, like Han Solo, Luke, Leia.... It isn't right that just came back Palpatine, he can come back after he died and others can't do it!

Kylo Ren - the best character of the new trilogy, even though he was mostly Vader's carbon copy, died like him, saving a loved one.

I just love this so much I was speechless but also crying throughout the whole thing. My two favourite characters are perfectly told in this video, you have done an amazing job with it. This video shows a lot of similarities that I have been trying to tell my family and why I think Ben will turn to the light side and survive the film but now I will definitely show them this video. God I wish they didn’t make Luke a total different character. He saw good in a man that destroyed planets, killed thousands upon thousands and brought him back to the light. But he tried to kill a boy with dark arid tendencies. A boy who needed guidance he just tried to kill him. That’s not Luke at least not the Luke we used to know.

Exactly, even Mark Hamill himself was disappointed how they handled his character, we deserved a better Luke, we got an Op Obi wan, an Op Yoda, people waited years upon years to see an OP Luke, and Disney trashes it.
When you grow up, you tend to be less hopeful about life. Sure, he almost gave up his life to redeem his father but he didn't want to repeat the same mistake with his nephew. He just wouldn't be able to handle this as a much older man.
I agree but to play devil's advocate, after seeing another powerful jedi falling to the dark side despite everything Luke had done, it would kind of make his previous efforts seem futile to an extent. I also agree with @Epi, while boy Luke was hopeful and optimistic, it's realistic that his older self would have grown less so.

I like this. Kylo is my fave character from the new trilogy. When he kills Han, gets me every time. Ben Solo's reconciliation with his father leads to his return to the light and redemption, both Han and Leia and Rey return him to the light.

I really wish they made Kylo the skywalker indtead of Rey. It wouldve done so much more and his arc wouldve been completed but instead of going to the dsrk, he'll go to the light. He had such a complicated story and the conenctions betwen anakin/ben are so similar.
It wouldve been so amazing to see that happen.
I feel as thought they copied the originals too much, Kylo dies just like Vader which I don’t like, they should have made him and Rey join and create the new Jedi but with the teaching of both light and dark to create the grey Jedi creating a better balance

Anakin and Kylo didn't deserve to finish so bad, they just needed to be helped by someone that could understand their feelings, but both had their reasons to be bad, have never been really bad, they were always conflicted and in pain and nobody helped them and has been betrayed by their masters. The 1rst time I saw the original 3 movies of Star Wars I thought that Darth Vader was just bad as the same in the first movie which I saw him in, but when u know what's happened to them first become so u realize that it wasn't their fault if they become so; they deserve to come back in other movies, sequels, I mean, them and other principals characters, like Han Solo, Luke, Leia.... It isn't right that just came back Palpatine, he can come back after he died and others can't do it!
