“Ha (I Got ‘Ya)” or simply just “Ha” is a track composed in FL Studio Mobile starting on 29 February 2024 before being completed by 18 June 2024. It’s a hardcore hip-hop track using heavy hitting bass drums that have been lowered in pitch and overlaid with numerous effects. The main melody is sampled from the 1974 track “Peaceful Ones” by Lonnie V. Liston, simply spliced and pitched down 6 semitones. The bass comes from the same sample, only overlaid with several low pass filter effects. Only other sample is a digital speaker feedback sound I took from Freesound.org. Track is divided into two sections, the first is the section I started off with with the WIP of the track, using some new splicing techniques I saw online, the second splices specific parts of the sample to create a whole new melody from scratch.
