I bought the E2 110. I barely had time to fall in love with them before the ground got covered in snow and now I'm crying, curled up in a ball under the bed, waiting for the melting.
    Life is so unfair.

I went from the Rollerblade NJ team to a fitness skate to stay in shape (since I'm old and need to worry about that sort of thing now). I went with the Rollerblade Twister edge 3 which I found to be the most comfortable switch between street skating and fitness skating. It is CRAZY going from a 58mm wheel to a 110mm wheel though.

I used to work for Rollerblade brand, and would be interested in a long term test review on these. My experience with Rollerblade brand skates is that they don't last very long. When I was with the brand, their philosophy was to have the best looking and most comfortable skate in the skate shop, and that is good for business, but not for the serious skaters. So I am curious to know what you will think of these skates after a few times out.

I bloody hope your wrong lol. I just dropped $430 on a pair of maxxum edge 125 3wd 😳 Been a few years since I skated and then it was street and vert competitions... Trying to get back into it without the half-pipe for now.

My main skates are Rollerblade Macroblade 80w skates. They were my first pair. Fairly comfy. I still generally use them as my go-to skate after skating in them regularly - anywhere from every few days to a few times a day - for about a year and a half. Because they were my first pair - and because I use them in neighborhood streets (and sometimes at the skate park) - they have sustained multiple scrapes from new skater abuse. I STILL ride in them, although I am "outgrowing" them, in the sense that I have decided that I prefer slalom / jam / artistic inline skating, and the long frames of the Macroblades just don't cut it for that purpose. They're pretty good on the trail, though. They don't look so pretty now, because of the scrapes and scuffs; but they're still rideable and fairly comfy, which is a huge deal for me.
The colors were never all that chic for a chick like me, anyway - I mean, they're no Moxis, that's for sure - to be blunt, Rollerblades are often kinda ugly or boring color-wise for chicks like me - but my Macroblades have mostly held up to everything I've thrown at them: small jumps; aerials (one-legged cruising w/ other leg lifted) over manhole covers; duck walk manuals; not-so-great attempts at 3-turns; edging work, including working on hockey stops; plenty of drag stops; slalom criss-crossing variants; crossovers; backward c-cuts; crossunders; some moderate experimentation at the skate park on ramps and nubs; cruising on a multi-use trail with a good bit of gravel; cruising on streets with some gravel; and the falls and crashes and scrapes and scuffs to try to prove it all. If I had to do the whole thing over again, I would consider Rollerblade, but I'd be looking for a women's freeskate / freestyle / slalom skate, because I love the power my Macroblade 80s give me but would prefer a shorter frames for skate jamming and slalom.
All that said, if I were heading out on the trail, yeah, I'd consider something like the skate Lino's showing off here..... although comfort, performance and (to a degree) affordability are all factors I would need to consider. Also women's sizes: my husband has the same Macroblade as me, in the unisex size equivalent to mine (80ws in size 9, 80s in size 9). I can skate in both but get a better power transfer in the ladies' skates b/c they're a more snug fit - just what I need as a chick: performance.
I'm very curious to try a triskate.... but then again, I'm especially curious about the offroading inflatable tire / wheel types.
So no, I don't consider Rollberblades bad quality. That said, Sebas may be ahead of the game vs. Rollberblades when it comes to slalom inline skates - and I am so far initially leaning more toward trying Sebas next, if I can find a good Seba slalom skate in my price range that is also a ladies' size.

Ah rollerblade. I've always had that wanting to try a skate more geared to distance. In regards to your little note at the beginning, I think we all call it "rollerblade" as they were the most recognizable brand and thus we just called it such. Just like how all window cleaner is "windex" and all facial tissues are "Kleenex" or "Hoover" for all those who live in the UK.

    • @RicardoLino
      @RicardoLino  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

And Gillette's in some places instead of razor blade hehe , but even them call what they do Rollerblade Inline Skates. Anyway.. another topic ;)
These feel goood for distance. And I should be making a review soonish.

Also the ILQ9-Classic uses GREASE instead of oil like on the ILQ9-Pro. At least for me, grease lubrification lasts longer than oil ones... So, my ILQ9-Classics last longer than my ILQ9-Pros.

Oh man, i remember the first time i tried speed skates (powerslide visions) my friend had lent me his old worn wheels (so i wouldn't ruin my pristine new ones whilst getting used to the boots) which was very thoughtful but they were worn to a knife edge so balance was even tougher! First time i tried skating them (mistake no1 - having to go somewhere relatively far away) it took so much concentration and use of muscles never used before that fairly soon i had the feeling that i needed to both vomit and poop at the same time. had to sit down and take a break for like 5 minutes! Have never felt like that in the 12, 15 yrs of skating i'd done up to that point!

    Hello Ricardo,
there are a few things today that I'd like to correct:
    - bearings: these Skates don't have the ILQ-9 classic bearings (2 non-sealed metal shields and metal retainer) but the ILQ-9 classic plus bearings (same specs and shields of the classics but the nylon retainer of the ILQ-9 Pros that have 1 sealed rubber shield)
    - the "only" ones with removable cuff: there are 4 in total: the E2 125s, E2 110s and the 2 predecessors Endurace 125s and 110s.
    - comparison between Hydrogen and Matter wheels:
    th-cam.com/video/-FxPLQeqgPY/w-d-xo.html
Hydrogen seems to be a bit harder and faster, Matter has probably more grip and comfort
😉Did you already find out the name of your outtake music? 🤪

Excited to see the review... Just wanted to to say Rollerblade is one of the best brands IMO. They are the only company I have dealt with so far that stands 100% behind their product. I had an issue with a powerslide skate cuff that was a design flaw, they sent a shim to try and change my skate (but the slow motion video reveals theres nothing wrong with technique its a design issue) and that was where they left it, buy a different skate or live with what you have. Rollerblade on the other hand, I snapped a buckle, they sent a new one that day. I lost a liner to one of my kids skates, they sent a new one right away. I don't have a ton of experience with rec skate companies, but between PS and RB, it would be RB all day. Forever fan of them just due to my experiences with their customer service (they make a great skate too.)

Ok, Lino, those do look slick. If I were in the market for a speed skate, I might have to consider. If I might ask: are these short-boot skates fairly safe for folks who have been inline skating for a while? Is there all that much of a greater risk of injury? Curious to know. All of my skates are high tops. I do think that sealed bearing configurations are much better for outdoor skates. But then, maybe I'm just lazy like that. Wishing you guys well. Hoping you guys can get out where you are. Olá from the US. = )

The brand is TWINCAM, and the powerslide or K2 in this case ate just buying from them and rebranding their products. So go for the more affordable rebranding
Also make sure its the exact samr bearings as there are diferent il9 bearings .. classic.. pro.. etc ..check twincam website ;)
