Video suggestion : a video explaining the nuances between all of the different types of whiskey like Irish, Canadian, Japanese, Scotch, etc etc. That would be very helpful
Hey, my dude. Thanks for this. I'm 60 years old and very physically active. I really want to be a bartender. I love a good drink but never go overboard, and would love to make a good drink an experience for people. I have a culinary arts degree but really have no desire to be back of house. Thanks again, can't wait!
Bro this video is so helpful, definitely helps put everything into perspective. I’m 18 headed off to college, and just lined up an interview with a bar nearby. Definitely going to look through the rest of your channel, and fingers crossed I land the job 🤞
Been serving 20 years at different establishments and the current place I’m at says they’re willing to show me how to make some drinks but couldn’t make me a bartender 🙄 honestly that’s all I need, im trying to add to my resume and I can take this skill wherever I go. I’m going to educate myself and give this a shot. (42) & you can teach an old dog new tricks.
I'm watching this two months into my first ever bartending job. Funny to listen to you saying how we should hang at the bar we want to work at... 'cause that's what I did, and I got the job! Haha Spent half a year going there every couple weeks. When a spot became available, I was on the bar manager's mind so he called me up. Now I'm learning everything from him. My point with all this: it works!! Thanks for all the other great advice. Keep it up! :)
@@observadorcanario I more than less feel the same way! I’m an aspiring rap and hip hop artist (Atuzi search anywhere you stream music), and bartending is really helping me achieve the financial, social, and dare I say emotional goals that I set for my self a year ago. These are only minor “first step” goals, but it’s more than enjoyable 😬😬😬
Im going to bartending school because I literally have no restaurant experience. I don’t drink and i know nothing about alcohol and all the various kinds. Im literally dummie level in Bartending/working in food service . I figure its a good introduction for me specifically, and in person introduction before i even get to a bar.
I appreciate you man! I would say hands on is always the best for sure, but maybe go to a bar and just watch the dance of the Bartenders from the bar seat and you'll pick up on many things that will help you out! @@DIAVOL
Awesome Video Aaron! Broken down well along with your Great Personality Flair !! And clearly delivered and well articulate info. I Learned A Lot ... Keep It Coming !!!
Very awesome - I would like to make some extra money and started watching some You Tube for some inspiration. You - are by far, the most influential bartender I have watched. I am RAMP certified but I have never bartended before so that’s not too good. I think I should take your advice and go get some experience at a place on a small scale. Appreciate your content. Thank you. I am from Central PA.
Hey, I appreciate you and the comment! Yes bartending is very lucrative and it really is a blast. I'll make sure to keep putting up stuff that can help you achieve that goal 😁🤙
Honestly glad I watched this video but definitely gonna have to start to visit bars I guess. I plan to get my OLLA so I can serve alcohol but I’ve only been to one bar when I turned 21 I guess I should start visiting and talking with the people there so I can understand this better
Iv worked in the restaurant industry for maybe 2 years now as a Hostess. (Since Iv got out of highschool) I’m now looking forward to finally start Bartending- this video was Beyond helpful with amazing quality and explanation! Working in service can definitely be fun if u know what ur doing☺️ dope video and dope setup!!
I appreciate the awesome compliments! Once you get behind the bar, it's really hard to imagine doing other things, as it's just too damn fun and the money is amazing!
Excellent video for me looking into being a first time bartender. I’ve done tons of retail customer facing work, but learning these specific bartending terms/tools/drinks is what I need. Thank you! Do you have a video of you explaining. Everything that’s actually behind a bar?
Just starting my first bartending position but I’m sure it’s mostly pouring. Not much cocktails. I still would rather be a barista as I love coffee more. But ya I need to make money
You might find that bartending is your calling! Some similarities for sure, but if you enjoy talking with people, moving fast and being part of the night life, it's an awesome job!
Yes I definitely forgot some stuff in the Wine categories such as Port wines and Riesling. Needless to say I can admit that wine isn't my strength as a bartender 😵😂
Interesting video! I'm trying to really hone in on and improve my bartending skills lately! Though funnily enough it's not to make money or work at an actual bar. But I would love to simply do it for fun and offer to play bartender at parties and weddings for friends and family! It lets me scratch that bartending itch but without the stress of doing it as a fulltime job haha
Hey man Good video! . Martini's and vermouth should be a point. Dry/sweet/or none. Flavor notes on liquor could be a 3 day class. Reposado u missed but tequila is a whole category. But nice job man i really enjoyed it.
It depends on the area and the bar. I've always been taught 2 oz for a double. Some bars do 3 oz though. I find dive bars will likely go more towards the 3 oz portion 🙂
Some drinks are stirred like Manhattans, because you want them nice and smooth and others are shaken so you can mix up all the ingredients and give it a cloudy look 😛
Hi, When you say liquor license, Did you meant the certificate to handle food and beverages? Because my understanding about the liquor license it's for open a bar business.

That's a great idea for sure! Even simple things such as when "Whiskey" is spelled "Whisky" without the "e" 🧐
Whoops, forgot to add Merlot as a red wine option 😆 That's pretty important to know!

great video man, just started to barback, going to commit the next 3 months of my life to bartending to get that next promotion
Awesome! You can do it! Stay positive and get fast at what you do and you'll really impress the bar you work for :)

I’m happy for you! I’m about 5 months into my job, and I came to learn! Was this helpful for you?
That's awesome! It's one of the best ways to get a job in the bartending world and it all starts with networking at the bars you already visit 🙂

@@SkullCatPodCast damn at my hotel bar 2 oz is the standard single shot. A double gets 4 oz for me in california
@@JackassReuniteVEVO Wow, that's a lot lol. I usually give a little bit extra after your first drink if you're cool :P
Why do u shake up ur martinis. ? I was taught martinis r stirred. Only James Bond asked for shaken.
Some drinks are stirred like Manhattans, because you want them nice and smooth and others are shaken so you can mix up all the ingredients and give it a cloudy look 😛
I was taught that it bruises the vermouth when you shake
If they say they want _______ tall, do you usually just assume they want ice in it? or should you ask?
Anything in a Collin’s in over ice by default
Usually, a tall means they want more mixer and unless they don't want ice for some odd reason, I always add ice.
@@SkullCatPodCast that’s good to know!! Your videos helped a ton

🧠
Not naming Pisco in your spirits? Really?.. Why so many bartenders are unaware of how versatile Pisco is? You're missing out bro.
Thank you
Always welcome!
