      Sir ...can we solve this que by using v(0-) = v(0+) and using 1st order eqn. Of v(t)...then to find current differentiating v(t) nd multiplying with C...as i(t) = C* (dv(t)/dt).???...but by doing this we get option b.

    Sir I think answer is option d, first find the capacitor voltage for any value of t then put obtained voltage equation in I=-cdv/dt

    General capacitor charging equation is i = (1/R).(V - V0).e^(-t/RC).
    Initial voltage Vo= q/C = 50 volts, final voltage V = - 100 volts. Hence, because of opposite polarity,
    - i = (1/10).( -100- 50).e^(-2000t) = - 15.e^(-2000t) .
    finally, i = 15.e^(-2000t) Amperes.

    sir if v consider v[0-]=-50v then v[0]=v[0+]=-50v and after kvl v[infinite]=-100v. now graph starts from -50v and volt and at settling time 5T Vc[t] will be -100v "is this correct"

    Thanks a lot sir.
    Gate EE 2014 a 1mark qns in which two switch position is given In RC network. Asking to find capacitor voltage. I have solved it I found it's correct answer by reversing V02 polarity. Which is not mention in given qns.please help me out whether I'm approaching in wrong direction????.

    Sir kya hum voltage of capacitor ka function nikal ke. Fir c(dV(t)/dt) karke answer nahi nikal sakte???
    Wese nikalne se answer 10exp(-2000t) aa raha hai. Please help.

      Take negative of 50 v for voltage across capacitor at t(0+) and differentiate it.

    if we first calculate Capacitor voltage and than differentiate this voltage, we get current through capacitor but answer is different in this method

      when you took Vc(0)=50 ..see the sign convention in diagram and then when you take Vc(infinity)= -100..check and solve once again..now you will get correct answer

    Sir if we are calculating the voltage and then making C*dv/dt
    Because when we are doing this we are not getting the same answer

      Edit: I got ans as a, i was taking polarity wrong u see in q they have mentioned polarity for Vc(0+) its opposite to Vc(infinite)

      Vipul Singh i also have a same question but i solved and getting a wrong answer. If we solved using laplace then it will be correct by this method bcoz initial charge is playing a good role in it.

    Fir Vc (t) = -50exp(-2000t) hoga aur agar hum isse ic(t) nikalen to option B aa rha hai plz koi batao ki main kahan galti kar rha hun...

    i(t)= C*dV(t)/dt = 5e^(-2000t)
    Ans is not same....

    Vc(inf)=-100V
    Then Ic(t)=(50/1000000)*150*(-2000)*
    exp(-2000t)
    =-15exp(-2000t)
    Im getting ans in -ve kindly correct me
