I've always wanted to use one of these, they'd be so much quicker than paintbrush painting.
Could you please do a video on how to paint white cars? What steps would be first? Sanding, or can a primer be used instead?

You shouldn't use a sprayer like this for auto paint. While it can push it out no problem the orange peel (uneven paint) would be crazy. If you want a unit instead of a compressor and spray gun go with a minimite 5 or the titan cap spray. You'll tape everything off and then sand to 220. Do 3 coats of primer. 2 coats of color. 2 coats of clear coat. Sand with 500, 1000, 1500, and 2000 grit between each coat and finish with 3000 grit. It will look like glass if you practice and put the time in.

We do not recommend using this type of paint sprayer for automotive work. It is possible, but it will take many coats, and a lot of sanding in-between to prevent as much orange peel as possible. You will also need a separate sprayer dedicated for clear coat use only. For the best results, look for an HLVP paint sprayer gun.

So any kind of paint, ext int latex oil based and how do you unclog the system during the job.

Each machine is slightly different, but they will usually have a cleaning mode where you can run water through the lines to flush any paint out. For tough clogs, remove the gun and soak it overnight in mineral spirits. Always make sure the air pressure is correct for the type of paint you are using, this will help prevent clogs and will give you the best finish.

Do you have any ideas for covering or decorating around a popcorn ceiling in a rental?

What's the project you are wanting to tackle? Frog tape and plastic tarps are helpful. You can also use a paint guide or shield to prevent any overspray onto the ceiling.

Might not be any more than a paintbrush or roller. It's the spraying being sent out by the wind I find troubling. Any small critter nearby would be coated in spray and die.

Paint sprayers do use more paint, and the extra in the lines usually cannot be saved since you need to add water to flush out and clean the sprayer. That said, a paint sprayer is faster, will provide a better finish, and for projects like kitchen cabinets a paint sprayer will get the job done much quicker without leaving behind any roller or brush lines.
