      Thanks Pedro and merry xmas to you too! Yes, we are all hoping for a better 2021. Thanks for watching our channel throughout the year and there is lots more to come on the Getz and the other race cars! 🙏😀

    The sidewalls on the Nankangs look very sturdy. Looking forward to you chaps throwing this Getz around on the track.

      @ClunieGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      G'day Gary, they are a real step up from the standard tyres that's for sure. We will scrub the Nankangs in over the coming weeks and then start to test different air pressures. We will also be fitting coil-overs soon and this will really stiffen things up!

    Wheels look good! What offset are they? Any scrubbing?

    • @ClunieGarage
      @ClunieGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      G'day Paul, thanks for watching. Factory offset to fit Getz brakes and will need to check the receipt. No scrubbing as yet with the 205 tyres and we are about to fit coilovers.

      Nice little car, but it plough understeers like nothing i've ever driven. Wondering if tyres might fix it. Or a rear sway bar and camber bolts on the front.

    Dude I love this stuff, one question is it worth turbocharging a Getz?

    • @ClunieGarage
      @ClunieGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gday mate, glad you like our videos and thanks for watching. We havent done it, but from what we have heard, it isnt worth it from a cost-benefit standpoint and I dont think the standard engine internals are built to withstand forced induction. Our approach is to make the Getz the best handling and cornering car out there and to make do with the standard engine with simple bolt ons. If you want bulk power, choose a different platform like some of the other track cars on our channel. Hope this helps?

    • @loopster889
      @loopster889 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ClunieGarage yeah I was expecting it to be something like that, thanks tho. Alternatively do you know of any engines that could be potentially swapped (and fit) in its place.

    • @ClunieGarage
      @ClunieGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      G'day mate, yes I have heard of a few. Easiest option is to do a 1.6 Getz swap as it is exactly the same engine except different internals. After that, things get more complicated but you can step up and explore a big block elantra and or a Velocetor (may have mispelt it, apologies).

    They must be the flashiest wheels anyone has fitted to a Hyundai this side of the WRC. I am guessing they have a little more grip than the 400 tread ware Good Rides. Any tips for jacking up the car?👀

    • @ClunieGarage
      @ClunieGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      G'day Angry, yes they are pretty flashy and we are guessing that this wheel and tyre combo are probably worth more than the car itself! Best spots for jacking up the car are on the chassis rails, not the sills...😜

    I here a accent 1.5 has the same as the getz there are extractors for the accent so going to order some already have a plugin chip and air pod for mine next get the headers and exhaust done then bigger injectors and fuel pump then lower it

    • @ClunieGarage
      @ClunieGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      G'day, best of luck with your mods. The only headers available for our 1.4 Getz are custom hand made ones. Just make sure whatever Accent mods you buy will actually fit the Getz.

    Looking good again. It would be good if you could do an ongoing budget for the Getz. It would give other folk an idea of how much it would cost to get an entry level race car ... kind of like what Bad Obsession did with their City Car Project. ( Go Binky )
    Also as I am about to start building a Kahnacross / rally version for my son I wouldn't mind knowing if you are still running a CO 2 sensor on the modified exhaust you built. Also I would imagine at some point you will have to remove the airbag ( or have done already ) how do you by pass that on the ECU. I heard from some other sources that the car electrics really don't like it and often play up afterwards. Roll cage AGI ??? Suspension K Sport ????

    • @ClunieGarage
      @ClunieGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      G'day mate, yes we will keep a tally of everything we have spent and will do an episode on that. We are still running standard sensors and airbags at the moment. We might look into a half cage down the track but will focus our efforts on some coilovers as next upgrade. Best of luck with your sons build!

    I think that you may have given Junior a bit of wrong information regarding the redline on the Getz motor. I heard that 8,000 rpm was the best time to swap cogs. Anything less is doing the little 1.4 a disservice.😡😡

    • @ClunieGarage
      @ClunieGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha, I reckon at 8,000rpm we might need to bring a bucket and pick up parts off the floor!!
