He’s ridiculed other DJ’s for years and then he gets Lights to lip-sync over the original track. Both diluted their reputations on this night. Lights is such a talent and brought in vocals to so many of Joel’s instrumental tracks. A part of me died on 1st November 2024, my soul, my music ethos and my trust in music, ability over talent. Joel, Lights, you are better than this, so much better.

ive been a fan of lights' music since 2012. it's so disheartening to see she is lip-syncing. she even posted doing vocal warm-ups and rehearsal before this show. ive seen lights cover this song live and this is definitely not her voice.
She was singing but with the track also, Her audio is very low. There are other vids from different angles that you can hear her in the song. But yes I agree it should have been just her voice. I was there as well.
Did you layer the orig recording ontop of the live audio? I got both confused why it sounds so great and why it sounds exactly like the recorded version, rather than have some small alterations. When she started talking into the mic and I didn't hear her at all, i was thinking, this can't be the real audio live. I kinda get it, you werent near a speaker, and the vid didn't have proper audio. But it was still confusing. I started thinking shes just lip syncing...

Which was before you were born I’m sure. In this video, they didn’t have the instrumental, they used the original version and lights was signing over the original track. Unfortunately the original vocals were louder than the mic and lights voice was washed out. She 100% is not lip syncing, she’s clearly signing over the track, you just couldn’t hear her voice, which was unfortunate. Know how this stuff works before posting about bs like shame on Joel. Greta even thought it was her voice backstage when it was lights signing the rehearsal LOL. Greta has a great voice, but she is clearly not right at the moment to make a big deal out of this.
