Husband just finished cutting up this winter's firewood for the house... I'll be making some of these for the winter cabin. Thanks for the straightforward directions!

I started doing woodworking about six months ago as a hobby. My garage has piles and piles of sawdust. When I throw it away, I always think to myself that there’s got to be someway to use the sawdust. Great video… Thank you!

I just purchased a bunch of old candles from Goodwill to make some of these. Thanks for the idea.

try the cardboard egg cartons and stuff each hole full of lent from the clothes dryer and cover with the wax. The egg carton can be cut into the size you need.

You can compost sawdust too or just sweep it outside into some trees.

Appreciate video content! Sorry for chiming in, I would love your thoughts. Have you researched - Proutklarton Incredible Match Plan (search on google)? It is a smashing one of a kind guide for getting an understanding of how to survive in a disaster and make your own survival food without the normal expense. Ive heard some great things about it and my friend finally got great results with it.

I do home wood working and have 55 gallon pails of sawdust.. I figured there would be something helpful to with it instead of just tossing. Thank you..

Have you tried pouring the sawdust into the pot with the melted wax? It might make pouring them into the ice cube trays easier.

Really great idea I melt my wax in the oven at 300 and then I shut it off and it stays warm for a while

Can these only be used outside or is it ok to use in a fireplace to start wood? Wondering since the amount of candlvwax is minimum if it's an issue. I have access to sawdust and probably enough candle wax from burnt out candle bottoms to make all I would need for awhile but only want them for indoors.

Make sure the sawdust is very dry before you do this.
Use the silicone ice tray, so they come out easily.

I never tested it but I don't think so. I thinkt it would be like lighting a candle with a ferro rod, it doesn't work.
