- So many #renmakesmusic videos to #react to. UGH. I'm gonna have to make a playlist just for Ren. This was a much more uplifting video, so I was able to get through it without becoming a blubbering mess, so that's good. Man this kid got started young!

Whatever mood you’re in, Ren has a song for it.
When Ren made this the misdiagnosis was myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS). I feel guilty even suggesting it (I would never wish ill on anyone, let alone Ren) but his struggles have made him into an artist unlike any I remember (I'm 57) and given him a depth, and understanding you can only find through struggle. The Ren that might have been may have been an amazing artist but the Ren that is will (and has) changed lives.
Oh man, anxiety is a "female dog". You're not alone. Hold strong, you're just as much a gift as Ren is.

Watching the clips of Ren talking about his experiences while he was going through his sickness can be tough - it is so nice seeing how bright he shines today and we can only hope that his health journey continues to get better and better.
You are right the strength Ren possesses is incredible and seeing him show the same talent and resolve from the beginning of his journey - its awe-inspiring.
Also I believe he is 34/35 years old.

Yes, Ren was in the depths during this. Ren has recently come out with a kind of autobiographical story he wrote and recites Chaoter 1-5! You will learn everything there

Ren is 34 yrs old
I have a similar struggle as Ren and he speaks the truth. Lyme disease is a never ending battle. He speaks 100000000 percent truth. He is amazing and we have to remind ourselves to keep hope. I’ve been sick most of my life but severely since my early 30s / Lyme, mental health, autoimmune disease is so so so very hard - keep striving sir. Thank you also for your service sir 🫡

I love a LOT of REN’s music, but this song in particular, holds a special place in my heart. I discovered it several months ago, and played it quite frequently, while I was questioning my decision, to leave everything I loved, and move to Washington state. I was feeling very defeated at the time (I had lost my job, and couldn’t find a new one for over 5 months, and was in a relationship that wasn’t healthy). This song reminded me that I too “have the strength of a mountain, and the courage of a deep blue sea, and the heart of a lion”).
You do as well. In spite of your anxiety, you are facing it head on, putting yourself out there, and doing a wonderful job! You are inspirational, and have a lot to offer too. And just remember (although I know it can be hard sometimes) that YOU have the strength of a mountain, you have the courage of a deep blue sea, and you have the heart of a lion too! ❤

Great reaction. Ren was around 24 when this video was made. When he was 19 he wrote A Poem on the Trick The Fox TH-cam channel. It is his view of the meaning of life at the age of 19. Holds true for any age. What You Want is a great fun song. A relief from Ren's heavier, emotional song. Keep going. You are doing great my friend.

Ren also mixes his own recordings. He’s an accomplished sound engineer. He is more likely about 24 or 25 here, sadly severely underweight and unhealthy looking. He’s a youthful looking 34 now.
Great reaction, I think he wouldn't be the talented Ren we know without what he's been through. To quote an old Italian artist "nothing grows from diamonds, flowers grows from shit" and i agree. Also quoting Ren himself "living with depression is a blessing in disguise, never second guessing intuition's getting wise" (you should react to this song "Illest of our time") btw he is 34 now
I listen to this song when I’ve woken up yet again that morning with the first feeling being anxiety. I have to remind myself to be patient, it won’t be like this every day, as a survivor of taking my life, if someone told me I’d be here now fighting on but ok, I’d never have believed them.
I truly believe that he faked it till he made it. I think he decided that he was going to stand in place and laugh in the face of pain and death and put that smile on his face and…… and it worked. He willed his life to be what he wanted. I admire him as well. I wouldn’t have survived what he went through. And the thing is, he’s such a humble gracious person as well. Not only is he a superstar and good looking but he’s actually a genuinely kind and giving person.
He never gave up. And now look at him.

Religious or not, having faced serious health struggles, mental or physical, this is too relatable. Ren went through psychosis, and I can strongly relate to that, especially throughout my teens. I enjoy your very realistic look into this, with such positivity, with love, kindness and empathy. I can see that you relate to this, too. Thankyou for being so completely honest, I've subscribed. You are extremely brave to do this, it's admirable ❤️🔥

With you on the anxiety. It makes my life a living hell worrying about things that invariably either don’t happen or aren’t nearly as bad as envisioned. Not my fault, so I try not to blame myself, but it helps just to accept that I am like this - trying to fight it makes it one-hundred-times worse.
Have you reacted to Ren’s “Ready for You” yet? If not, I really recommend it. I really relate to the lyrics and I find it so encouraging, especially when I’m feeling low.

Wow, this is an early one from Ren! His energy was so muted in comparison to his later performances. This must be during when he was really struggling just to live! I believe that Ren is now 34 but when he filmed this one, he didn't believe that he would live to see 30. At this point, I think it was still a mystery about what was making him sick so he was definitely not aware of what his future would hold or even if he would have one. His uncertainty about the future was pretty all-encompassing back then

Hey, i wanted to tell you that after 15 years of abuse of a benzodiazepin, today is my first day clean! I thought of you, here in Italy it is almost 12am and i used to take it around this time of the day. All of it because of anxiety, i started at 23 to try not to suffer anymore and i used to take a bottle a day. Now with my mom's help we started counting the drops of that med, and after a year i no longer need it!
My psichiatrist is super happy because usually the only treatment is cold turkey with I.V.s of anti convulsants, in a structure. But i did it alone!!! I just take two pills of Lexapro now every day alongside two pills of Lamictal for my ADHD! And they will stay forever but rn i am so happy! I swear there is a wonderful light at the end of the tunnel, there are still horrible days but there are also good days! I just wanted to share the news with you bc i know you'll understand me! And hold on to the ones you love!
I've gone through benzo withdrawl. Pure hell. Really proud of you for kicking it. I've been on dozens of different meds over the years and have kicked most of them. I recently got off my ADHD meds. I honestly think I am better off without them. You can do it.

I'd agree with that ( old soul). Comfort will come with practice I'm sure. I wish I could express to you guys HOW MUCH this is weird for me. I've never been able to escape the fear of criticism and rejection instilled in me from traumas incurred in my developmental years, and then just being a natural introvert. It's very alien for me when I'm "extroverting".
@@choppedliver_reacts I understand that totally. I have similar issues, but have gotten over a lot of it by just making myself do it. You will never escape criticism in life. All you can do is ignore the haters the best you can and move on. 😊

Sir, you want up lifting you have to listen to the Love Music series, 1 to 4. The song "Power". When he was a part of the 'Big Push" they have a lot of fun stuff together. I believe the main reason they broke up was because Ren had to go to Canada for medical treatment that wound up taking a little over a year. He also has his first album "Freckled Angels".

Hi choppedliver😊 I have been thinking about you the last couple of days,wondering what you could react to that we could all share a conversation about. That is actually a hard one, I would think anything goes, except for politics and religion, of course 😊 Movies, shows you like,you mentioned animals,hobbies,anyplace you would like to travel to,earliest memories. What would you like to talk about? I'm sure most of us would go wherever you lead, metaphorically, of course 😊
Yeah, politics and religion are a hard no. LOL. I definitely plan on opening up to some different topics. So many ideas floating through my head, and also the Evil Ren saying "nahh, that will suck, they won't like that, you would be good at that", but I will prevail!
If you truly want to know his story, he has an 8 part series on @RenMakesStuff that tells his main story from start to finish. I will say it isn't the easiest to listen to, as someone with anxiety and an empath.... but the ending is pretty epic.
Well we both have that in common then. I'll get to it eventually. So much I want to do, so little time!
Maybe try to raise your camera so you aren’t looking down into it if you know what I mean!
When I'm watching the video, the camera is above my screen, I've tried putting it above my screen, below my screen, to the side, etc, there is no perfect positioning. Making these videos is much more difficult logistically than you would think. I try to look at the camera when I'm talking to the audience, versus looking at the video, but I'm still working the bugs out :)

Ren will always have to manage his health. He went miss diagnosed for so long. The Lyme disease wreaked havoc on his brain and body. He just spent over 1.5 years in Calgary undergoing intensive treatments 5 days a week. The treatments improved things quite a lot. He’s still limited on what he can safely consume. The constant pain has been dulled. His head feels a bit clearer and the blurred vision has improved. He’s back in Brighton for a few months. Then he’s moving to California to be closer to his doctor in Calgary. Great reaction!😉💙🇺🇸💙✌️
