When I saw how Xie Lian jumped down from Heaven to the Mortal Realm, for a moment my mind began to see all the others gods (that I've seen so far) do the same to go to the Mortal Realm. Just running and jumping off a cliff, each with their own landing strategy. Wind Master probably would be the most graceful! And the fact we got to hear HongHong'er speaking, I absolutely loved it! I can't wait for Season 3!!

Even after watching the last episode of season 2, I haven’t realized until then that during the credits (and of the last scene of said credits) where there is a golden statue of Xie Lian who is NOT smiling with the white flower (if I remember there is snow), but butterflies (Hua Cheng) fly around him. At one point, a butterfly lands on his hand where he is holding said flower, when the butterfly lands and light is shown on the statue which is now smiling (you can see when the statue shifts its smile). Once I figured that out I balled my eyes out because I realized (even more than I already have) how much love and admiration there is for each other that even the statue will smile seeing that a loved one is there. Just thought it would be a nice thought to share. ❤🤍🦋
This season was such a joy to see! The entire team really outdid themselves! Thankfully we still have the english dub too. The wait for season 3 will be hard and although I'd just as much would like to watch it right now, I hope they'll take the time they need so they can keep up the same heart and quality they have so far.

What’s so funny is I was just thinking the other day about how Feng Xin very much fits the typical second male lead characteristics (like what you see in dramas). At first glance, he is the “better” option for Xie Lian - he’s devoted, noble, kind, and cares for XL deeply. However, he was unable to truly stick by XL’s side and support him when he needed it most. Meanwhile, there’s Hua Cheng, the “bad boy” main lead who ends up being the person who is not only the most loyal to XL, but also the person who loves and cares about him so much that he was unwilling to leave XL’s side even when he saw him at his worst. Don’t get me wrong, I still love Hualian, but I can’t help but sometimes get a bit of second lead syndrome for characters like Feng Xin… like maybe in a different universe he and Xie Lian could have had a beautiful love story :’)
This entire episode was just *perfection* honestly and hearing Hong'er talk was honestly both so cool and equally heartbreaking. I really hope that S3 gets an announcement in the very near future, until then I have the remaining books (I'm on book 5) and I have to read Scum Villain, Husky & White Cat, and a slew of others. (I was heading from lunch to my next class while watching this on my phone and let me tell you, I SQUEALED! 2) I REALLY hope we get a Season 3 announcement soon, my heart can't take this. 3) Does anyone know when the next set of dubs come out? I first watched the series in English, so now I'm waiting for more dubs to come out.
I did some calculations. So lets say we get 1 season per book. That would have been 8 seasons (going after the english translated volumes) but season 2 alr ended at the start of the flashback so that means that season 3 will be the second half of book 2. Now lets say the put the whole flashback in one season, and then season 4 is the second half of book 3. So going after this scheme that would make 10 seasons in total. Now what if they split the flashback up and instead of season 3 being the whole first flashback, season 4 is the first half of book 3 and season 5 is the second half (hualian kiss). That then would make 12 seasons! Plus extras 13. Now lets say they take another 2 years to make for each season (or around 2 years)... So then then would make 2x10/12=20/24... Meaning when the donghua is finished. I would be 36-40 💀... Ill be watching this masterpiece with my children lmao

I think Feng Xin feels a bit guilty and also cause there's someone MORE loyal to him than he is. Also, I feel that Xie Lian was so tired hence he decided to come to his parents. The ending tho was sweet. I hope they still make season 3. Side Note: I hope the eng dub team sticks to Mount Tonglu and not Copper pot mountain 🥹

This is my favorite donghua at this point and I am *tense* about waiting for more, but there was an announcement about season 3 being in production so ... the wrap up at the end of this episode was just so lovely. Thanks for the video and the work you did after every episode!
I think Feng Xin feels a bit guilty and also cause there's someone MORE loyal to him than he is. Also, I feel that Xie Lian was so tired hence he decided to come to his parents. The ending tho was sweet. I hope they still make season 3.
Side Note: I hope the eng dub team sticks to Mount Tonglu and not Copper pot mountain 🥹

I love this shot of Xie Lian and Jun Wu. I grew up around Christian Icons, so the choice of gold placement instantly reminded me of Christian Saint Art. The gold halo around Xie Lian's head represently his saintly and good nature, exemplified by his humble presentation. Jun Wu, however, is surrounded by a gaudy and shiny gold throne, showing how false his divine and kind nature really is. Also, by forcing Xie Lian to admit his innocence, hes avoiding repeat of the last banishment. Wouldnt want to lose his favorite toy again.

As a native of Appalachia, I’m willing to bet Copper Stove Mountain has at least two or three moonshine stills. You can’t name a mountain “Copper Stove” and not expect a few white lightning operations to pop up.
As a fellow native of Appalachia, I too agree. Hey, in ancient China it was super common to ferment steam-cooked grains in a container with water or germinate grain and steamed rice in a similar way to make liquor or wine, so I guess it's actually pretty possible.
