There should be a "pro boost" that you only obtain after making top 8 in an rlcs event or something. Make it super exclusive, but accessible to pros who make it to that point. Trade locked from the start, must be earned.
The allure of alpha boost is that it's what pros use and it's exclusive. So make something more exclusive that can be acquired by up to a max of 72 players per season.

@@lIlOlIl101 Garrett mentions later that he was used to being able to cruise his way into top 4 until only a few years ago. And he talks about how adjusting to the new era with a lot more talent is difficult for him. Rise came up in this much more saturated environment where you have to go for every little advantage so he knows exactly what measures must be taken

But then it's not Alpha boost anymore. It was their mistake to not trade lock it when trading was introduced, and it was also their mistake to not ban the Alpha boost and the accounts that were duplicating them when a scam report was filed. I've had all of my items stolen as well, and I gave psyonix screenshots as well as the scammers account. If they have this information, the scammer should have their items trade locked, removed from the account, or the account permanently banned, and the scammee gets their stuff back trade banned. It would have stopped the exploit dead in it's tracks. People might have still been scammed out of their money, but at least the scammers couldn't keep passing the boost along, it would be one and done.
Psyonix issued a statement today about the banned players and said all of the bubble players are unbanned and are allowed to play in RLCS

This whole thing is psyonixs fault tho? Like they could’ve put alpha boost in the shop or made all alpha boost untradable once it became apparent people were trading it as a rare item for money, which goes against their rules in the first place. They set themselves up for disaster.

Also, regarding the whole Alpha boost situation, I’d love Psyonix to bomb the black market just like they did with the TW Fennec and Octane. Reintroduce Alphaboost and you are good. I also can’t believe how we move past the fact that minors got to spend thousands on an in game item. The whole NFT/crypto culture is the culmination of these type of behaviors, where you are made to believe that owning an in game item is an investment that could make you any money on the long run. The esports scene is so precarious, it leads to these types of problems when you have kids trying to make a living off of a hobby

Imo they shouldn’t bring alpha boost back. That’s why it’s an “alpha” boost because it was only available in the alpha. They just need to be more diligent when somebody claims they got scammed out of an item that they know is “high value” instead of just taking their word for it and automatically give them a trade locked version

They should have numbered the alpha boosts in the name, "Alpha Boost #1-100000" and then you could literally hunt down the original owner then also since it has a unique name it would have been way more obvious to dumbass little kids that it wasn't legit

in order for the bubble player to get the alpha boost they have to link the epic account to their main
Every item will be tied to a unique ID on the backend. That's like asking how can a bank tell who i've sent money to - they just keep it all tracked in a database
@@nodidog no its not, lmao they cannot tell only by their usernames which multiple people can have, you would have to attach ur id number/ phone number/ social security for an account to be linked to a person
