Theory for this au- Moon IS Lunar but both lunar and a little bit of bloodmoon are semi in control creating moon as a person. Eclipse probably tried to recreate or get bloodmoon as a person itself but it still left the a bit of him inside. Moon/lunar was taking sunny away due to eclipse hurting them and they got sick of it so they took sunny, hurt eclipse (probably because he was going to stop them and eclipse hurting sun) then left. So when ever lunar "take over" that bit of bloodmoon probably back off if controlling the body.
The theory sounds interesting, but everything is much simpler. If you add a Lunar sleep mask and a Bloodmoon cap, you will get a Moon sleep cap. In other words, Lunar + Bloodmoon = Moon. The influence of Bloodmoon on the body is less, since it was originally a subroutine, and not a full-fledged personality. (his name used to be Security Moon, not Bloodmoon so yeah, he wasn't his own person).
