These things are great however i would always but used. I got meself a YT capra, with 170mm travel, dt swiss e1900 wheelset, Lyrik rct3 fork, monarch rct3 shock, oneup edc, full raceface cockpit, 170mm dropper and steezy paintjob for the princely sum of 700 quid. I know some people aren’t confident in buying used, but i cannot face the spec that i’d miss out on!!
Is it really that fast the rock hopper, looking for a fast hardtail that won't leave me broke. Kinda want to build up from frame but I don't have tools, got a park tool stand. I miss the Kona major Jake that was fast
@@ShouldaWaved I would definitely spend up. Chisel is much more upgradable considering it uses standard boost spacing thru axles whereas the rockhopper is on the aging quick release standard. It’ll be hard this find quality wheels for the rockhopper.
I bought my first modern mtb last year and I'm just now starting to realize how good of a deal it was. The hardtail that i got was a Mb31 royal from Allebike. Fully spect with deore parts, a 120mm ks dropper, 140mm rockshox revelation fork, dt swiss m1900 wheelset and Perrelli scorpion tires all for the price of 10.000 SEK. (750£)
I have Rockhopper elite, I didn't want expert because it uses Sram. my friend got Expert and i can tell that elite is better, only difference is that Elite uses Shimano
Do you have a favourite from our list?
I was more interested in hearing which bike was your favourite... but it never came 😕

I feel like the specialized chisel comp is missing! Even lower weight than the rockhopper still under 1500$. Fastest bike for the money hands down.

I had an Orbea Laufey to get me started on trails and last year I switched the frame to a Ragley Big Wig 😍
I’m partial to Kona, my favourite bikes. Have two.

Just 1500 quid lol, budget mountain bike he says lol. I wouldn’t call 1500 quid for a hard tail a budget friendly bike.
Merida Big Trail?
I got the 600 for £1250. I'm surprised is wasn't on here. I think theprce has gone up though.
Too much UK only...😢
