I enjoy your tours. One thing I like is it mostly satisfies my desire to take a bike journey somewhere. Although once I watch all the issues that occur on long distance touring, I realize that all I really want to do is day trips. Keep the touring going! I, for one, appreciate it.
There's a blues lyric something like "If it weren't for bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all." If anything can go wrong on a Tennant tour, it will. Sometimes even if it can't go wrong, it does. I wish you easy travels in which you can enjoy the sights and sounds of Mother Nature and our wonderful American network of stroads.
Thank you for sharing this holiday adventure to Hollywood even though I never visited, I felt like I was there, it’s soon gonna snow in New York soon and glad you got sunshine but didn’t know you broke your axle again wish you the best traveling home
Has to be the highway traffic that makes people like that. Was fun ridding in LA, and now its on my redo list. I will be more prepared now because of this tour. All I really needed was a backup axle and a credit card for rental car access. ~Long live the solar tour.
Yea its solid; however one AMZ reviewer it looks like he cross threaded it and striped the one ball end. It may need thread locker to prevent from raddling off.
I was wondering if I needed to be a subscriber to watch. I won't do that... But I will wait and thumbs up when released to those who won't "subscribe"!
as a full time bike mechanic, sealant inside of tubes rarely works and creates nipple corrosion when its escapes the tubes. I ride schawlbe pickups but they don't make them bigger than 27.5. I'm sure you're on a large frame so that means 29 with trek. At least this happened in LA where getting a new ballz hitch shouldn't be that hard. I actually have a whole extra thru axle for this reason alone.
I was surprised as experienced as he is and well knowledged with bicycles that he didn't have any options other than what he did to get back to Phoenix.
I guess the Burley hitch wasn’t quite so burly after all….😬🤪 There’s a guy on TH-cam who reviews E-bikes, and the California incline is one of the places he usually takes them to. ✌️
people in cars have no chill. They get so mad when you inconvenience them for even a few seconds. Its probably so stressful riding thru LA. I don't drink coffee either!! It makes me feel super weird.
Are there any plans to re-try this L.A. to Phoenix route this winter? One of the few youtube videos i look forward too - your long run tours. Anyway. Happy Hoildays dude
Yea 100%. I have 2 thin locks, a alarm, I can disable the motor by removing a brake level sensor magnet, and I clip my helmet to the back tire. Then I try to stay near where I can hear the alarm.
damn dude, when you get pooped on where the birds fly upside down because the place is not worth pooping on, how soon till we see the attempt number 2 for the tour
@@Eric_Tennant yeah, I watched your video, makes sense. Since you indicated you traveled higher speeds before. You can see in our video that there I a lot of back and forth bobbing
The part that broke on your trailer was that the axle ends inside the adapter nut? Would a pro bike shop have a axle and then you can rig one adapter from hardware store.Like you said should carry spare axle kits on long journeys or have enough money to fix on the road. Not hating on you just if one goes on a trip you need strong credit card, cash just in case bey shit happens. Having a 5 hour rescue was not smart. You could of rented a minivan one-way back. Just saying.
Thanks for having me along, Eric 😁👍

Those trees looked like giant Broccoli florets 😄 at least is was not windy on Day Three Eric, great video bud.

I remember hearing about this one.
Lived in LA for two years in the 90s and yeah people aren't as friendly as I thought they'd be but what a beautiful place

@@Eric_Tennant I'm definitely getting a backup axle, I wonder if the thru-axle is stronger than the skewer-axle

The two good mornings were probably outta towners lol. Like the edit on this. Nice. Getting shit on twice. Not nice. Onward and Forth!
Birds crap was the icing on the cake.
Thanks!
Thanks. Appreciate the support!
“Yeah, that didn’t work out!” 😂
All part of adventurizing.

Did he run a red light at 11:43?

It's on my redo list. Still have one more video for this series as well. I just have to get done editing it.
Great videos! Are you scared as hell leaving your bike anywhere?

Not sure yet when. Could be next November with a stronger axle system.
@powerkarma now I know why the handling was so bad. Think that fork was snapped around the time of our ride together.

Do you have a link for the goggles?
Yep. amzn.to/41tc0Ra
"upper class homeless" Our society is so mess up right now. I'm gonna be middle class homeless here in a bit when I start my bicycle tour!
