  • Rescue 50 was first dispatched to a crash with entrapment assisting Station 60 (West Willow.) Units arrived to find a 2 vehicle accident with one of the drivers pinned under the dash. After removing the roof and doors, pulling a piece of metal away from under the patients knee, and lifting the dash, the patient was extricated. As the Rescue was clearing the scene, the Pre-Alert sounded for the dwelling on Dennis Dr in Providence. Engine 60 and the Rescue responded straight from the crash and arrived within 5 minutes of dispatch. Crews had smoke coming from the attic but were unable to locate any fire at first. After searching, an area of burnt insulation and electrical equipment was found. A small fire was extinguished and a lengthy overhaul began. The cause was determined to be from a bathroom ceiling fan. The company cleared after ventilation, removing the burnt insulation, and making sure there was no more extension to the rest of the house. FAQs-
    Q: "Where is this?"
A: Our fire house is located in the town of Willow Street, just south of Lancaster City, Lancaster County Pennsylvania.
Q: "What is the spinning thing?"
A: That is called the "Roto-Ray," it is a spinning light designed to catch drivers attention.
Q: "Why is the call so far away?" or "Why does it take so long to get there?"
A: Many of our responses, or at least many of the ones that are uploaded are responding to assist other departments. Usually another firehouse can be seen or is passed by who is already on the call. We can reach the far end of our first due in West Lampeter Twp within 5 minutes, and in Providence Twp about 7.
Q: "What camera are you using?"
A: For dash cams I use a GoPro Hero 7, helmet cam videos I use a FireCam 1080

Ok so just summarizing all of the complaints in the comments... 1. Ff with a beard, 2. Leather got "ruined", and 3. euro helmets present on scene. Here is my counterpoint: patient extricated and fire out. Have a nice day.

Don’t care about 2 or 3. That’s pure opinion. The beard and the numerous other safety issues are inexcusable. Won’t even start on the fireground ops. Christ they’re lucky they made it to the fire that was already out.

@@Chris-t4z7vyou’d be surprised how long a fire dept can go with poor training and no accidents. They all get the job done, 99% of people can’t tell how good they did or didn’t do regardless of the outcome with few exceptions.

@@adambush2770 I didn’t have enough time to pick it all apart, but that is a huge pet peeve of mine. These “officers” are clueless. I’ve had the misfortune of seeing 2 fatal apparatus accidents and nobody was wearing belts. Sadly, same department. Inexcusable. And yes a ton of other issues in the video.

IAFF L493 Brother here, I’ve spent about 16 of my 21 years on a Ladder Truck. Ive got a question and I ain’t picking at anyone but why did you guys take the roof off and attack the center console? She looked like she was only pinned by the dash, were her feet entangled too?

@@sarahsusongsheltonhankinss102No, most modern cars will completely kill the vehicle in an accident. I've seen minor accidents where peoples cars shut down and they couldn't get them started again.

All that work to get 1 patient out. You could of just cut the doors and the B post off on the driver side. Then if haven't already put a C Collar on the patient. Lay the back rest down, Cut the lower area that's by the front fender and raised the dash that way. That took way to long.

Battery powered VX tools take too long, lack the power and torque to get the job done quickly. They have the equipment; full hose reels, a big pump with high torque manifolds. With 2 sets of shears going most car and truck roofs only takes 3 minutes to shear off. With a set of shears and a set of spreaders popping doors, 5 minutes in the hands of a well trained VX rescue crew and the patients are completely accessible for paramedics to start critical interventions.

    • @Fire-Rescue50
      @Fire-Rescue50  ปีที่แล้ว +2

We did as well. The cause was a bathroom ceiling fan. The dust and hair build up over time and cause a fire hazard.

White car definitely ran that stop sign. Damage the front enough that it partially collapsed the driver compartment, they had them speed on them.
Damage to the van is broadside and white car is left front. Van was already in the intersection when white car hit it at speed. Looks like everyone was ok though

What's your problem with some of these guys with beards? If it wasn't for these volunteers, who are unpaid, taxes would be like NYC to have paid departments. And if beards aren't allowed in your state, well goodie for them.

If you mean Galet helmet they are far superior to the traditional helmet you seem to cling too. See how you fare in a flashover compared to the Galet + flash hood and the side protection is brilliant compared to any traditional helmet.
